CIDC – Activities: 9th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2017:

The 9th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards juggernaut has started rolling at full speed now. During December 2016 15 teams of two evaluators have been traveling to various sites spread across the country for undertaking management interactions and site audits of shortlisted projects.

The enthusiastic participation from organizations has presented enough challenges for the evaluators to complete all the evaluations by 10th February 2017.

A detailed logistic plan coupled with whole hearted cooperation from applicants has helped achieve 60% completion of the audits by 31st December 2016.

CIDC – Activities: CIDC Internship Program:

19 B.Tech. Students from civil branch of Mewar University have been enrolled in CIDC Internship program in Trenchless Technology and their training shall be imparted at CIDC Faridabad and related project sites training centre from 2nd January 2017.

These interns will be available for On Job Training (OJT) for remaining five months from mid of January 2017.

VKT – Dhaulana:

Under CIDC – Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFCL) training program 2000 candidates to be trained.

Under this training program 1345 candidates are undergoing training at different CIDC training centers at

Sidhauli, Ramshapur, Dhaulana, Gorakhpur, Ranchi, Daltonganj, Faridabad, Bheemili ,Khurda, Srikakulam and

Chapaguri.

CIDC – Activities: Environment Awareness Rally:

Environment Awareness Rally was organized by CIDC, Gorakhpur on 23rd Dec, 2016. At the onset of the rally, trainers and trainees of CIDC learned the need of protection of environment. The rally was flagged off by the Center In-charge, Sh Pradeep Paswan. This Rally began from the training campus and proceeded towards the main city. During the rally trainees raised slogan of environment awareness and took oath to be more sincere and devoted to keep the planet pollution free. More than 150 trainees and staff of CIDC took part in this rally.

Christmas Day celebration at Gorakhpur Centre:

Christmas was celebrated in a vibrant environment at CIDC, Gorakhpur on 25th Dec, 2016.The whole program was a story about ‘The Birth of Jesus’ which had a fusion of over seven songs, dances. At the end of the program Santa Clause arrived and filled the entire crowd with joy and happiness. All the trainees enjoyed the beats of “Jingle Bells.” Cakes and sweets were distributed to all.

Plantation of Medicinal Plant and ‘Navgra’ Plants on New Year, 2017:

In addition to the traditional celebration of New Year, Gorakhpur center worked on a novel idea to prepare medicinal plants’ garden and garden of ‘Navgrah’ Plants on the New Year. Under the guidance of Mr Arjun Singh, Officer (Retd.), UP Forest Department, a program was organized. The program aims to ensure dual action of planting the tree and fostering environmental stewardship. The trainees and staff of CIDC actively participated in the program. Dr. Bhuwaneshwer Nath Pandey, Environment Specialist was the Chief Guest, Sr. Alok Srivastava, Regional Manager, Central Bank of India, Sh. Ramesh Singh, Sr. Manager, Purvanchal Bank and Mrs. Manju Mishra, Principal, Purvanchal Academy, were the Guests of Honor.

In program, 50 medicinal plants like Cinnamomum camphora (Camphor), Elaeocarpus Ganitrus Roxb (Rudraksha), Bauhinia Variegata (Kachnar), Nyctanthes arbor-tristis (Harsingaar), Santalum album (Chandan), Stevia rebaudiana (Stevia), Phyllanthus emblica (Amla), Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha), Bacopa monnieri (Brahmi), genus Santalum (Chandan), Azadirachta indica (Neem), Aloe vera etc and ‘Navgrah’ plants like Calotropis (Swetharka), Butea Monosperma (Palash), Achyranthes Aspera (Apamarga), Ficus Religiosa (Peepal) , Prosopis Cineraria (Shami), Cynodon Dactylon (Durva) etc were planted.

In the program, a lecture session was also organized in which experts shared their views on medicinal plants, ‘Navgrah’ plants and need of forestry. Dr Bhuwaneshwer Nath Pandey shared worthy and very useful knowledge on forestry especially on medicinal plants. During the session, the subject of lesser forest covered area and its impact on environment were also discussed.

All CIDC staff and trainees took oath to plant at least one plant on every New Year, 2017.
