The ACCUPLACER and computer skills tests are not timed tests, you will have as much time as you need to answer any question on the test. We have found that most people finish the test in about 1 1/2 hours. It is important to take as much time as you need to do your best.

A Sample ACCUPLACER placement test is located at the bottom of this web address:

http://www.trocaire.edu/prospective/faq.html

The computer skills placement test guide is also available at this link:http://www.trocaire.edu/prospective/faq.html

(If you do not have access to the internet, please call us at 716-827-2545 and we can send you a paper copy of the Sample Placement Test).

General reqUireMenTSCandidates for admission to the College must be graduated from

an approved secondary school with a minimum of sixteen credit units or must provide evidence that an equivalent degree (GED) has been completed (or will be completed in keeping with New York State Guidelines for Equivalency Diploma or based on earned college credit).

What You Need to Know Before You EnrollDistance learning courses are just as demanding as classroom courses. With intensive lesson plans and strict deadlines, students must be able to dedicate suffi cient and consistent amounts of study time each week. Students who tend to procrastinate or put off their studies until the last minute do not succeed within this learning environment.

It’s recommended that students have regular access to a computer with a reliable, high speed (cable, dsl) Internet connection. If not, the computer labs at Trocaire College are equipped with all the hardware and software necessary to complete the course. Basic technology skills are also required, such as being able to maneuver through the Internet, create electronic documents and access online resources.

If this is your fi rst time taking an online course, you must attend a MANDATORY on-campus orienta-tion session. This orientation will cover the basics of distance learning and our Learning Management System, Moodle. Failure to attend a session may result in being dropped from the course.

foreiGn STUDenT aDMiSSion Foreign students seeking admission must follow the regular

admission procedures. Students must also provide evidence that they have a command of the English Language. The College may require satisfactory grades on a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The College will also accept the ASPECT Level 7 English Language Proficiency Course in lieu of TOEFL.

Official transcripts of secondary and post secondary schools should be forwarded to the Office of Admissions.

When the transcript is not written in English, a certified translation is required.

financial aiDOver 96% of our students receive some type of financial assistance.

You will not know if you are eligible unless you complete your FAFSA. It is for this reason that Trocaire recommends that every student apply for financial aid.

yoU’re WorTH THe inVeSTMenT! A quality education can be costly. Family budgets may not always

be prepared for the investments which college requires. Trocaire believes that students should select the college that is the best investment for their future career; not one that is selected based on educational cost alone. Once a decision is reached, financial aid can make your educational investment more affordable.

2010/2011 TUiTionFull Time: $6,345.00 per semester

Part Time: $513.00 per credit hour

Tuition cost is subject to change. Additional fees are assessed depending upon specific coursework, as well as programs of study. Fees include: clinical, business, computer, science laboratory, student life, and technology fees. Please consult the college catalog, or website for a breakdown of fees.

Curriculum

Didactic and clinical B.S. in RT training will be offered at Trocaire’s Buffalo Campus and existing affi liated clinical laboratory sites. The core liberal arts requirement for the B.S. degree consists of 22 credit hours beyond that required for the A.A.S. in RT degree. An additional 30 credit hours at the 300 and 400 level specifi c to CT and essential medical imaging coursework are also required to complete the B.S. in RT degree. (81 to 84 credit hours minimum for A.A.S. in RT degree) + (52 credit hours for B.S. in RT specialization) = 133 to 136 total college credit hours required for B.S. in RT degree.

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) strongly supports advanced academic programs in imaging science that encompass nationally recognized standards culminating in the award of a baccalaureate degree. The B.S. RT at Trocaire College fulfi lls this ASRT mission objective.

Certifi cation & Accreditation

B.S. in RT degree graduates are eligible to take advanced certifi cation examinations in tomographic based specialties such as CT. Trocaire’s program represents the fi rst 2+2 B.S. in RT program in Western New York, affording students enhanced scheduling fl exibility and opportunity for the successful completion of a B.S. degree focused on medical imaging sciences with a specialization in CT methodologies. 2+22+22+22+2
