SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY HOUSEEach year The Community House benefits from

he generosity of many people. For those of you

onsidering a gift to The Community House, many gift options are available. The most popular

    are listed below:

MATCHING GIFTSMany employers will match the gifts of employees,

etirees and members of the corporate board

when their gifts are made to nonprofit organizations

uch as The Community House. The amount of

your personal gift can be doubled, or even

ripled, at no additional cost to you if your companyhas a matching gift program. Please contact

your companys community affairs or human

esources department to see if a matching gift

plan is available and if the The Community

    House is eligible.

GIFTS OF CASHA gift of cash is the most common form of charitable

giving. An outright gift to The Community

House qualifies as a federal tax deduction for

up to 50% of adjusted gross income. If that limit

s exceeded in any one year, the excess deduction

an be carried over into the next five years. A

gift of cash is considered made on the date it is

mailed or hand delivered. Gifts delivered or

mailed by December 31 qualify for tax

deductibility for the calendar year. Please make

hecks payable to: The Community House.

GIFTS OF LIFE INSURANCEA current life insurance policy can be changed

or a new policy can be written to name The

Community House as owner and beneficiary. A

gift of life insurance can provide both a substantial

    haritable contribution and tax advantage.

GIFTS BY WILLA carefully prepared will is the best way to

ensure that your loved ones are provided for

after death, and that your preferred charitiesare supported as you intend. Once completed,

it can be revised and updated as your wishes

and circumstances change. A simple addition

to a will I give, devise and bequeath the

(sum/percentage of/residue of my estate) to The

Community House for such purposes as its

board of trustees shall determine can provide

long-term benefits for The Community House

    and reduce federal estate taxes.

    GIFTS OF APPRECIATED SECURITIES

OR REAL ESTATEStocks (including mutual funds), many bonds,

other securities and property may make ideal

contributions. When considering the sale of a

particular holding, it is important to first check

with a professional advisor to determine its suitability

    as a charitable gift.

MEMORIAL AND TRIBUTE GIFTSMore and more, it is customary for friends and

family members to express their sympathy

through memorial giving as a meaningful way

to offer consolation on the loss of a friend or relative.

At other times, marking a special occasion or an

achievement by honoring a person, couple or

family through a tribute gift may be appreciatedmore than a material gift. The amount of your

gift is kept confidential, and the friend or family

member is informed of your thoughtfulness

through an acknowledgement letter from The

    Community House.

If you would like gift planning assistance, please call Theresa Forthofer at (630) 323-7500, ext. 227.
