Using Millennium Cataloging

A Quick Drive through the Landscape

Use the SEARCH box in the middle of the Millennium window to search and retrieve a

BIB with all of its attached records.

MAIN MENU essentially the same for all Millennium modules. (See handout).

QUICK EDIT MODE

Retrieve the correct bib, then click on the EDIT button (toolbar) to edit the BIB record.

From the SUMMARY tab you can locate or create ITEM, ORDER & CHECKIN records.

From the RECORD tab you can edit them.

Here is EDIT Window in Millennium. To

navigate in the Bib record click on a field

or use the TAB button.

Buttons at the top of the Edit screen let you Save, Print,

Insert or Delete variable fields, Undo or Redo actions

and Close the record.

What is the Millennium Editor?

Editor used by all Millennium modules: MilCat (Quick Edit mode)

What is the Millennium Editor?

It’s the Millennium version of the Full

Screen Editor in the character-based system

Along with EDIT button, new features will be located under the MAIN MENU.

Millennium Editor FEATURES

To navigate in record & edit: tab, use arrow keys, or click on the

field.

Fixed Fields reside on top

Double-clicking on the fixed field’s value area brings up a selection

(dialog) box

If you key an invalid entry, the system will display a list of values

Keying the first character (i.e.,‘e’) will jump you to that

part of the list.

Just click in the field or press

<Enter> and start typing...
