USE• The title on both my poster and the example I have given is the largest

font on the poster. This is because I've used the stereotypical codes and conventions of a Film Poster and took the knowledge I have learnt that the title should stand out clearly.

• Other codes and conventions have been used from The Descent poster such as the Steel Tongs credits as well as a “release date” and the Distribution and Production Company logo’s being involved.

• The colour and house style of both posters are the same, using Red, White and Black (stereotypical Horror/Thriller colours). The Red colour is the ‘stand out’ colour on each poster, signifying the genre well.

• On both posters there is just one main image and the rest is very black and dark. There is use of low key lighting on both.

DEVELOP• The Descent has an added colour, a kind of blue tinge to the images

as well as using the Red, White and Black whereas I have used the 3 colour rule to use the stereotypical conventions and it also adds to the effect of making the image stand out more for DISCONNECTED.

• The fonts are similar, yet developed because I add a more louder and bolder effect. Also, The Descent is a serif font whereas DISCONNECTED isn’t. Both the titles have a shattered effect on them as well, but look different because on DISCONNECTED it is louder and bolder and also in capitals.

• The position and layout is all in similar areas but DISCONNECTED is more central whereas The Descent’s composition is more sided to the right.

CHALLENGE• The tagline for my Film Poster is bold and around the main

image.

• The image on my poster is placed inside the silhouette of a person which was an experimental decision I wanted to try out. I felt this was achieved through more experience with Photoshop in the two years of using it.

• I wanted to make the tagline for my poster big and relating to the Thriller aspect of the film to incorporate both the Horror (the image and darkness of the poster) with a font that is bold and powerful reflecting Thriller.

• I have used the Actors names across the top of the poster.
