Dear Bain Families,

It’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through the fourth quarter! As we complete this final stretch of the school year, I want to encourage you to continue to provide a routine for your child that provides a healthy balance of exercise and free time while maintaining a focus on their academics. Please continue to provide a structured time for your child to complete their homework and continue to read every night with your child and ask questions about their reading.

Next week is Teacher Appreciation week. Please take time to let our wonderful teaching staff know how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication to our Bain Bobcats.

Mark your calendar for Thursday, May 17th! Our school will host our annual Multicultural Event from 5:30-7:30. Please join us for an exciting night to showcase various cultures, food, and fun. The Spring Book Fair will also be open during this event. We hope you will be able to join us.

I would also like parents of 3rd-5th graders to mark their calendars for our upcoming EOG (End of Grade) tests. This year, testing will take place beginning on Friday, May 25th for Reading and Wednesday, May 30th for Math. The Fifth Grade Science EOG test will be held on Friday, June 1st. It is critical that all students arrive on time to school and not be picked up early on test dates. Personalized Learning News

Bain's Personalized Learning Vision: We will utilize a Personalized Learning Philosophy to enhance our educational framework allowing us to encompass the whole child, increasing student ownership, striving for mastery learning, while

implementing paces, playlists and pathways.

This year we will focus on the 7 Habits presented in

The Leader in Me: How Schools Around the World Are Inspiring Greatness, One Child

at a Time by Stephen R. Covey

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

Balance is Best

I take care of my body by eating right, exercising

and getting sleep.

I spend time with family and friends.

I learn in lots of ways and lots of places, not just at school.

I find meaningful ways to help others.
