• The PGCE is a 36-week, full-time, M level course
• 120 days are spent in school based training
• 60 days are spent in University • Leads to Qualified Teacher Status
(QTS) and a Post Graduate Certificate In Education (PGCE)

Course Structure • The course starts in September 2015 and and

Structure
• University training is delivered by specialist university staff
• School based training is delivered in partnership with the university
• In school training you are supported by a: – university-based tutor – school-based subject mentor – school-based Coordinating mentor.

• Trainees have excellent communication with their tutors.
• The course promotes an ethos of collaboration not competition.
• Strong links with partnership schools have been developed and all mentors are fully trained. Many are Ex-Middlesex Trainees.

Skills Tests
All applicants must sit and pass two na0onal QTS skills tests in numeracy and literacy prior to final acceptance on the course.
You are only allowed two resit opportuni5es for these tests.
• You will need at least a 2.2 Honours degree or equivalent in a subject relevant to your chosen area (excep0ons Physics and Maths).
• You must also have a GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths. (An equivalency test can be taken at a test centre.)
