Some Guidance in Translating

Be careful with word by word translation

Avoid loss of meaning

Not restricted by vocabulary or grammatical forms

Be aware of the term register

Do not use ‘everyday’ language

Should only be based on meanings in the source language

Barli Sasmitawinata adalah seorang maestro seni lukis realistik. Pria yang lahir di Bandung 18 Maret 1921 itu emnjadi pelukis berawal atas permintaan kakak iparnya, tahun 1935, Sasmitawinata, agar Barli memulai belajar melukis di studio milik Jos Pluimentz, seorang pelukis asal Belgia yang tinggal di Bandung.
