WELCOME LETTER FROM THE AREA COORDINATOR (AC)
Welcome to East Campus Village! We are excited that you have
chosen to make ECV your home this year. ECV is a GREAT
place to live! Our staff have worked hard to prepare residential environment where each of you can feel comfortable living,
studying, and socializing. The Village Crier is ECV’s monthly
publication designed to provide you with important information
about living in East Campus Village and on campus at the Uni-
versity of Georgia.
For your safety and convenience, our Community Desk, located
in Rooker Hall, is staffed 24 hours a day. Here you can pick up
your mail, check out DVDs from our video vault, check out a
spare key if you are locked out of your apartment, or even pick
up a daily newspaper in the Rooker foyer. If you need a staff member's assistance anytime day or night, please call the desk
at 706-542-1780 or 706-542-2041.
The ECV staff is dedicated to assisting our residents with having a successful and enjoyable experience
while at UGA and in University Housing. Please allow us to assist you by contacting us when you have
concerns.
Again, welcome to East Campus Village and good luck in the coming year!!!
Kathryn C. Hall / Area Coordinator
A professional staff of creative and dedicated individuals works hard behind the scenes at ECV every day! In addi-
tion to the Area Coordinator, we have two Residence Hall Directors to assist in the management of ECV operations.
Ricky Boggs hails from West Virginia and is in his third year of service with the
UGA Department of University Housing. Before arriving to ECV, he worked in My-
ers Community. He reside in Boggs Hall with his wife Kristen, one year old daugh-
ter Bailey, and Rocky, the family dog. In addition to his management of 12 Resi-
dent Assistants (Rooker Hall & Building 1512), he oversees 20 Desk Assistants.
Ricky graduated from Marshal University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice & a M.S.
in Counseling. One interesting fact is that his favorite cartoon is He-man / Thun-
dercats.
Demarcus Merritt is approaching a year of service with the ECV Community.
He came aboard September 2010 from Richmond, Virginia. In addition to his
management of 12 Resident Assistants (Vandiver Hall & McWhorter Hall), he
serves as advisor to your ECV Community Board. Demarcus graduated from
Virginia State University with a B.S. in Health, Physical Education & Recreation
& a M.S. in Sport Management. One interesting fact that is he enjoys writing in
his leisure and plans to author as well as publish a book in the future.
Keep an eye out for events, workshops, and community service opportunities
throughout the year. The programming staff works hard to provide social, cul-
tural, and educational outlets for the residents.

MORE STAFF AT YOUR SERVICE!
The most visible staff members at ECV are at the Community desk . These are our Office Assistants (OAs) and desk assistants (DAs). They address many more tasks than just sorting mail and delivering packages. Stop by and ask any questions you may have about living in, working, and loving ECV and even UGA.
OAs include Dana Sawtell, Quintay Young, Austin Ramsey, Janae Ishmael, Ashley Vann, Bethany Maddox, Ebony Town-send, & Haley Carringer. DAs include Kyle Mackey, Holly Her-
rin, Amber Harper , Otis Hogan, McKenzie Barr, Tristian McCoy, Kamran Mohammed, Chiquella Taylor, Lili Snow, RC Goslee, Michelle Clum, Elisa Ivory-Harrell, Tolu Teniola, Yasmeen Freight-
man, Christopher Lambert, & Sara Hubbert.
The custodial staff (pictured right) are responsible for completion of some of the most important work for resi-dents of ECV. Say hello to these essential and wonderful people of the ECV community next time you see them working in the halls. The custodial staff ensure every nook and cranny of ECV run smoothly and safely.
As you are moving into your new home and discussing roommate agreements with your suitemates, remember that ECV offers a cleaning service! For as little as $4.50/week, our custodial staff will clean your bathroom, making your housekeeping duties much lighter and less yucky! As another added perk, if you choose to sign-up for
these services, you will automatically pass the bath section of the ECV health & safety checks, which are conducted once per semester. Sign up today at the ECV community office!
REMEMBER
OUR CLEANING
SERVICE
For safety reasons, we do not permit bed risers in ECV.
