Residential house, Nistelrode




It’s new building project. The hemp-crete insulation was constructed in situ.

Hydrate lime was used for this composite

Formwork was attached to the timber frame

construction




Low radiation building The floor was made with rammed concrete, bamboo

reinforcement.

Lava granules are used to insulate the floor.




38 cm Hemp-lime insulation for Rc 6,5 m2K/W

Inside and outside finishes is lime plaster




Hemp-lime mix used by the Dutch Hemp-

lime association:

Hemp wood, about 140 liters (±90%)

Hydrate lime, about 14 liters (±10%)

Additives, minerals, as pure and clean

as possible (±1%)

Water, about 30 liters

As local as possible extracted

ingredients

Pure, clean hydrate lime has a better

effect on the inner climate and the

hygroscopic ability of the hemp cells,

compare to hydraulic lime



A small ecovillage of 30 houses in Boekel




Start of the build in the summer of 2017

If funding for the project succeeds

Social rent level

Residents has organized themselves in a housing

corporation.

They will rent individually from their corporation




37 cm of hemp-crete insulation will be applied in de

walls, in situ.

They will use hydrate lime as binder

Rc value of the walls will be 6.4 m2K/W

The roof will be insulated with hemp fibre batts

For the construction they chose to work with a ‘fixed knot’

The wall are build with Hemp-crete blocks form IsoHemp on the outside of the

construction.




Hemp-crete was chosen as building material to create a good climate in the

barn for the food storage

This project was funded for the construction because of the innovative origin

and being realised with a lot of volunteers.
