Plot Summary

• The plot summary of the book is in the beginning Kino, Juana, and Coyotito had a happy life.

• Then one day Coyotito got stung by scorpion.

• The family went to the doctor and he didn’t help them.

• Kino dove for a pearl and he found “The Pearl of the World”

• Kino’s world has changed forever.

• The Doctor is a cruel man. He wanted the pearl from Kino to go to Paris again.

• The Doctor wanted the pearl no matter what.

• Juana is loyal and submissive. Loves her husband but disagrees with his actions.

• Kino is a man that loves his family and has loyalty to the traditions of his village and his people.

• What I learned from the book is don’t let greed overpower you.
