Opened June 2006, The Old Pump House has been

extensively renovated to convert it from its previous

use, to a spectacular two bedroom self-catering holi-

day cottage overlooking the Wye rapids at Symonds

Yat West.

The Old Pump House is “at the end" of Symonds Yat

West, adjoining Forestry Commission woodland, with

spectacular views of rapids on the River Wye. The

area is ideal for many outdoor pursuits, including

walking, climbing, canoeing, mountain biking and

horse riding, and is also ideal for those who would

rather watch others exerting themselves than do it

themselves!! There are two pubs within walking dis-

tance in Symonds Yat West, and the pub and hotel in

Symonds Yat East on the other side of the river, are

an easy walk via the "hand pull" pedestrian ferry.

Despite being "tucked away", we are less than 2 miles from the A40 dual carriageway and easily

reached via the motorway network.
