TRESTLE BOARD

Hello Brethren! I would like to thank everyone for the honor of serving you this year asMaster of Canton Lodge No. 60. It has been an honor and a privilege and I will rememberthis year the rest of my life. Masonry has changed my life for the better and I hope it hasyours as well. I thank everyone who helped me this year and that is a long list. I also thankMcKinley lodge No. 431 for their help in helping us create a bond between our two lodgesthat I hope lasts for years to come. I hand this over to our incoming Master and lookforward to our upcoming Masonic year.

Steve Morosko, W. M.Hello Brethren! We’re now heading into the month of November and we have several

exciting things coming up. I would first like to thank Worshipful Brother Morosko for theopportunity of submitting an entry for the Month of November. I would also like to thankhim for the opportunities he has presented in order to help prepare next year’s officers forthe work coming up, as well as helping get off to a good start as everyone movesup. Personally, I feel blessed to have served with such a great team this year and I see greatthings ahead for everyone who takes a part in what is coming.

With that said, we have a couple of dates I’d like to provide to everyone for theircalendar. The first date is the annual lodge Installation which will be November 21st, 2014at 7:00 p.m. This installation will be unlike many typically seen as the current GrandMaster of Masons in Ohio, M.W.B., Steve Cokonougher, will be our installing officer thatevening, as well as several other distinguished brethren who will be assisting him on theinstalling team. We will have a dinner before the installation starting at 6:00 p.m. and weask everyone please, R.S.V.P. for dinnerreservations to our lodge Secretary, GaryDressler, as soon as you can. Well Brethren, this is the last Bulletin article I will write as Worshipful Master ofWilliam McKinley Lodge No. 431. Everyone was right; the year does go by fast indeed. Ihave had a great time serving as Master and will miss it, “mostly” LOL. It definitely was a“roller-coaster” ride for a while, but fun and rewarding none the less.

My officers have been great this year. I have asked a lot from them and they alwaysdelivered. I am confident they will run our lodge well in the ensuing year. I am reallylooking forward to witnessing my first “Masonic Brother”, Steven Dilley, take the helm.He and I were investigated the same day, initiated, passed and raised together and havebecome life long friends because of Masonry. This is true with many others in my lodgeand I have made many life long friends, but Steve and I started our journey throughMasonry together. He will make a great Master, just as he was a great Senior Warden, andis my friend and brother.

Our first Stated Meeting in November is our Annual Meeting and elections. Rememberyou will need a current dues card to vote. Our second Stated Meeting is our awards andPast Masters’ Night to honor our 50 year plus members and the brethren that I will join theranks of shortly. Brethren come and honor these distinguished Masons; they deserve it.

The Fellow Craft Team will be a top priority now, for as you know, we will be inspectedin the Master Mason Degree this coming year; so we need to start practicing often. Wehave a “reputation” to uphold!

Finally Brethren! Thank you for giving me your confidence and the opportunity toserve as your Worshipful Master. I will treasure this honor for the remainder of my life. This experience has enriched my life in somany ways. I have learned so many thingsthroughout my journey as an officer andmember of this lodge, and I am lookingforward to learning even more in the yearsto come. Respectfully

Mark J. Gold, W.M.

Greetings Brethren! As I was told, “when you become Master the year will pass fasterthan you anticipate.” That is as true now as the day it was told to me. I personally wouldlike to take this time to thank the officers of Trinity Lodge for their devotion as well as allthe hard work they have performed during this year; not only for the Lodge, but for reallybeing brothers. When I had family deaths and illnesses throughout this year, they weremore than family and supportive me throughout the ordeal. I cannot express the gratitudeand respect for each of these brethren. I am more than positive these officers will benefitthe future of Trinity Lodge. It has been an honor; thank you all.

We had a nice visitation from the Jobs Daughters on the 2nd of October. These youngladies work very hard not only on their ritual work but their functions outside theBethel as well. Their memory work and dedication is very impressive. They are ourMasonic future. It was a pure joy for them to visit. Thank you ladies!

On the 9th of October we had the privilege of two, Brother Entered Apprentice, passing to the Degree of Fellow Craft. Congratulation’s to Brothers, Sheldon and his sonBrandon. Brethren, it was a special night. We are very proud of our father and son team.

For the 16th of October, I would like to thank Past Master, Brother Rodney Anderson forstepping in and presiding as Worshipful Master, in my absence, as well as all the PastMasters’ who step up and resume the labors of Trinity Lodge, so the officers can attendGrand Lodge each year. These Past Masters have helped all the previous officers and wewould be lost without their assistance and knowledge. Thank You!

As stated in the past, any brother wishing to attend Trinity Lodge Meetings or a specialevent, please call Reid McLeod (330) 412-0947 or Brent Bowers (330) 833-7043)and we would be happy to accompany youto Lodge. Honest, our driving is not thatbad.

October was a busy month for Delta Chapter. We took a train ride to see all the colorfulleaves on the Cuyahoga Valley Railroad. We met at BJ’s and car-pooled to Akron, wherewe boarded the train. After the ride, we went together for dinner and then returned toCanton. Everyone to enjoy the trip!

October was also the 70th birthday celebration for Delta Chapter. Delta was granted itsCharter by the Grand Chapter in 1944.

We did not have many people who were ill this past month. Johnnie Jones was sent acard when he fell and broke some ribs. We know you are still hurting and we wish you aspeedy recovery.

Johnnie and I would like to thank our corps of officers for the 2014 year. Yourdedication and love of Eastern Star was evident at each meeting. Thanks to all of you whostepped up when we needed a pro-tem, especially Bob Cassel and Carol Jones who neverrefused to take the office we needed.Thank you to all the committee membersand chairpersons who gave their reports atour June meeting and to all of you whohelped in the kitchen when we reallyneeded you. work to provide great food during special meals and to Dawn Thomas for her hard work incoordinating all the dining servers. We always managed to have enough help. Pleaseremember that we host the School of Instruction on November 8th 2014; Dawn will reallyneed a lot of help serving quite a crowd.

We enjoyed the Deltona 500, the hat parade and the Delta Derby again this year. TheGerman Choir gave us a special performance on Master Mason Night, and, of course, wehad our annual visit from Santa Claus. The music that Diane Phillips provided wasphenomenal as we learned to appreciate music from other countries as well as our own.

I would be remiss if I did not thank Nancy McMillin, D.G.M., for all her kindness andgood advice during this term. I really appreciated all the help she gave to me.

Please plan to attend the Open Installation of officers with Lora Givler and TrevorSproul being installed as your Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron on November 15th 2014at 2:00 p.m. Our new Worthy Grand Matron, Susan Simpson, will install them.

Finally, our appreciation goes to Bob Martelet who has done a fine job as editor of “TheMasonic Bulletin.”

My editorial (Masonic Bulletin page 12 and 13, September issue 2014) stirred up somecontroversy among those taking offence over my article about attendance. Some do readthe Masonic Bulletin. Most remarks were anonymous, some missed the intention of thearticle, it referring to attendance not change. Change may be explored in the future. I amamazed at the articles written by dozens of authors on this subject of Masonic lodgeattendance. Most recognize the “drop out culture” of the 50’s, to 70’s. “Flower children,”“hippies;” drugs took a bite. Viet-Nom era veterans are not joiners.

One author, I’m exploring, working with this since the late 90’s and grouping manysuggested methods of retrieving members into several categories of success. In the nextmonths, you will recognize them as attempts to entice brethren back into lodge. I’m stilldigging! Bobel

First: We established the officers for theupcoming year of 2015.

Second: Established meeting dates andmeeting locations so they can be placed innext year’s calendar book.
