The Map of Reality Expander Lesson 1 • Beliefs • Homework
(Print this form and use it to complete the homework.)
A Few Tips:
Yes, there is quite a bit to do here. That’s partly because I’m asking
you to learn a number of definitions and principles here that underlie
the rest of the lessons.
It would best to finish this homework before Lesson 2, but if you
can’t for some reason, still go on to Lesson 2, and please don’t stress
over it. Do a little bit each day, and have fun discovering more about
yourself and how your beliefs shape your life. Ask yourself “How
can I have fun discovering more about myself as I play with this
information?”
After we get these first two lessons out of the way, homework for the
other lessons will be much shorter, I promise.
I suggest doing question number one (which has multiple items
within it) on the first day, then take the next five or ten days to do
the remaining 5 questions. Do one question per day or one every

two days. If you spend just 15 minutes each day, you should have
no trouble completing the homework before the next lesson. For
greatest learning, please don’t work on the homework for more than
30 minutes without taking a break.
Treat this as an interesting process of discovering more about your
beliefs and how they shape your results in life. There are no wrong
answers, and there is no pressure to do this a certain way. Anything
you discover makes this worthwhile.
If the answers to certain questions don’t come to you right away, let
that be okay. Ponder them as you go through your day and let the
answers come. Above all, stay relaxed about this and focus on what
you want. I’ve left a number of spaces in each question for you to
write your answers. This doesn’t mean you have to fill each space,
or deal with as many beliefs as there are spaces. Do as many as you
want. The more beliefs you work with, however, the more you will
learn.
Those who faithfully do all the homework report incredibly positive
results. You do want incredibly positive results, don’t you?

Exercises:
1. Listen to the audio lesson a second time or read the Lesson Notes as a
review. To make sure you understand the terms and concepts I use, as
you encounter each of these terms, I want you to jot down the definition,
a short description of each term, or fill in the blank:
• Internal Map of Reality:
• The “safety” part of you:
• The two reasons why, for some people, “nothing works”:
• “For any outcome, whether internal or external, there’s a certain
way of and
that will get it for you. You have to find it and be
enough to adopt it.”
• The filters in your Internal Map of Reality include:

you believe in these important areas.
