Greater Boston Closes Homes Sales Up 13.9% Compared to March 2015

In Greater Boston through the end of March 2016 there were 2,208 closed single family sales. Median sales prices in Greater Boston were up 3.2% at the end March on average. Single family homes went under agreement in 80 days. Single family home sellers in the Boston area achieved 96.4% of their asking prices through the end of March. Essentially, this means that for every $100.00 in asking price, the sellers achieved $96.40. This was a ½ percent increase over March 2016. The increase could be due to the fact there is only a 2.2 month supply of homes to sell. There is a dearth of homes on the market.
