www.lindenhills.org - The Bi-Monthly Newsletter of the Linden Hills Neighborhood Council - September/October 2016 The Linden Hills Line Taste of Linden Hills Fundraiser for LHiNC Community Grants on Sept. 26 Linden Hills Neighborhood Council and Rose Street Patisserie invite you to join us for an upscale night of culinary creations brought to you by the amazing chefs of Linden Hills. All proceeds go toward the Council’s grants program, which funds groups and projects that make Linden Hills a better place to live and work. Experience tastes from the diverse and delicious local restaurants that make Linden Hills unique – including Rose Street Patisserie, Tilia, Naviya’s Thai Brasserie , Harriet’s Brasserie, Clancey’s, Zumbro, Old Southern BBQ, Great Harvest and Coffee and Tea, Ltd. Plus entertainment by local musicians and the fantastic company of your Linden Hills neighbors, all to raise money for our neighborhood. Why: All proceeds from the event will support LHiNC grants, which are available to organizations or projects that make Linden Hills a better place to live and work. Past grants have funded: scholarships for Southwest High School students, tutoring program at the elementary school, the Linden Hills Chamber Orchestra, camping supplies for the Boy Scouts, building the dugouts at Linden Hills park, Southwest High School’s music and theater programs, Downtown bike racks and more. Please join us to support the community, celebrate with your neighbors, and eat some amazing food! Questions? Email [email protected] WHEN: September 26, 2017 7:00PM to 9:00PM WHERE: Rose Street Patisserie 2811 W 43rd Street, Minneapolis Tickets: $75 Available at lindenhills.org/TasteofLH Apply for a LHiNC Grant Deadline: October 15, 2017 Twice a year, LHiNC provides funding for Linden Hills projects, programs and organizations that make Linden Hills a better place to live and work. Our fall grant cycle deadline is October 15. What is the Council looking for? The level of LHiNC’s support will depend partly on the following: How does the organization or program relate to or affect Linden Hills, involve participants in shaping its work, draw on participants’ strengths, encourage people and institutions within the community to support one another, and support flexible, responsive, and respectful relationships among people in the community? Also, if applicable, how will the project be sustained beyond the life of LHiNC’s grant? Last year’s grant winners included: the Rubies – a Southwest High School all – female Robotics Team, the Linden Hills Chamber Orchestra, Southwest High School’s STRUT guitar program, college scholarships for area high school grads, and more.
