the fringe’s history 1996the fringe’s history 1996the fringe’s history 1996the fringe’s history 1996----2015201520152015 The story of the then nameless English Drama began in summer 1996, when a year 10 class put some one act plays by Alan Ayckbourn on the stage – just for fun and only for their class mates to watch. No photos have survived. But this acting during English lessons incited 18 students to found a drama group which later took the name “the fringe”, although most members refer to it just as “EDG”. What follows here is a list of all the plays staged and produced with one or two memorable photos to give you an impression of the long production history this group has.
