Blessing of the Backpacks Sunday, August 11

11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary

During the Worship Gathering all students – elementary, middle school/junior high school, high school, and university students – will be invited to come forward with their backpacks. Prayer will be offered for these students as they’ve begun or are about to begin another academic year. Deacons and educators will gather around these young men and women for encouragement.

WOW and Student 4:12 Ministries Resume

Wednesday, August 14

With the 2019-20 academic year underway, our two unique ministries to children and students will resume. WOW (Worship on Wednesday) is for children Grades 1–5 and Student 4:12 (from 1 Timothy 4:12) is for students Grades 6–12. Jan Phillips guides WOW and Carla and Kyle Ivester guide Student 4:12.

Back to School Supplies With the start of the school year the church office has started receiving calls for assistance with school supplies. You can help with this need by purchasing a few basic school supplies (backpacks, notebook paper, glue, crayons, scissors, pencils, 1 & 2 inch 3 ring binders w/clear plastic front, zipper pouches, etc.) and placing them in the designated boxes in the front and back entrances of the sanctuary or bringing them to the church office. Some of the supplies will be distributed as calls are received and the remainder will be taken to Garden Lakes Elementary to be distributed as needed.
