The delightful room, which canaccommodate 75 guests in comfort,features a host of exposed beams, anoriginal octagonal crown post and amagnificent beer bottle chandelier.If you are looking for something lessformal and truly unique, then the

Brewhouse is for you. The building,at the heart of this working brewery,can host civil ceremonies for up to50 guests allowing couples to bemarried in the shadow of the uniqueMillennium stained glass windows.

The spacious and self-contained OldBrewery Store is also licensed forweddings. Decorated with vintageinn signs, it has an ambience of itsown and can accommodate up to150 guests for your ceremony. TheOld Brewery Store is also ideal foryour reception and evening party asit has a modular stage, in-housesound system, and theatre-stylelighting. It can seat 150 for a

wedding breakfast, accommodate300 for a buffet and up to 400 foran evening party.

Whichever location you select, wewill book the ceremony on yourbehalf and advise the KCC LicensingTeam of your chosen date and time –ceremonies can take place in theVisitor Centre function room or TheOld Brewery Store on any day of theweek between 9.00am and 5.00pmand in the Brewhouse on Saturdays,Sundays and Bank Holidays –between 9.00am and 5.00pm.Please note there will be a chargemade by the Registry Office toperform the ceremony.

Your Reception Our two reception venues canaccommodate parties from 10 – 150 foryour wedding breakfast. Should youwant something slightly less formal, wecan cater for up to 300 in The OldBrewery Store with a range of superbbuffets.

You may also wish to consider usingmore than one of the areas within thebrewery; you could marry in theBrewhouse, have your weddingbreakfast in the Visitor Centre andthen transfer to The Old BreweryStore for your evening party.

One of our dedicated Wedding Co-ordinators will help you plan forthis very special occasion and will beon hand to make sure your day runssmoothly. They will guide you throughevery detail and help provideinformation on other professionalsuppliers for each element of yourcelebration.

When you book your wedding atShepherd Neame you can tailor everyaspect of the day to ensure your dayis truly memorable.


Tours You can even arrange for your guests to take a BreweryTour between your ceremony and the Wedding Breakfast.This can provide an enjoyable interlude and will give youample time with your photographer to capture somewonderfully memorable images of your day, safe in theknowledge that your guests are being entertained. Anexperienced guide will take them through the heart of thebrewery showing them how beer is made and explaining alittle of the history of Britain’s oldest brewer.

Your QuestionsAnswered

How do we make a booking?Telephone the Visitor Centre on 01795 542285 tocheck availability and provisionally reserve yourdate.

We will hold your provisional booking for 14 dayswithout a deposit. After 14 days a non-refundabledeposit of £1000, along with a signed copy of ourBooking Form and Terms & Conditions, isrequired to secure your date.

Provisional bookings not confirmed after 14 dayswill be automatically released and re-offered.

How soon should we confirm final numbers?Final numbers are required 3 weeks before thefunction. Full payment is required 14 days prior tothe wedding. Extras will be settled on the day.

You will be charged for the number of guests thatyou confirm, unless the number increases. Anyincrease in numbers must be discussed prior toyour wedding.

How can we pay?You can pay by cheque (payable to ShepherdNeame Limited) or by most major credit anddebit cards.

Can children attend the wedding and reception?Certainly; children under 5 years are free ofcharge. Children aged 5 -10 years are charged50% of the adult price and we will provide eithera smaller portion of the adult choice or a child’smeal – whichever you prefer.

Please note those aged under 18 may notconsume alcoholic drinks (Section 149 LicensingAct 2003) and, to avoid any embarrassment onthe day, we request that you ensure any guestsaged under 18 (and their parents) are remindedof this.

Can we store clothes or presents at the venue?Depending on other bookings, the Company maybe able to provide an area in which presents,decorations and other items can be left, howeverShepherd Neame will not accept liability for itemsstored or left on the premises. The Client mustarrange to collect and remove any items within48 hours of the function at a time agreed withthe Wedding Co-ordinator.

What time will our function finish?The Visitor Centre is licensed until 11.00pm forlive music, discos and dancing. Bar sales mustalso cease at this time on Sundays to Thursdays


but can continue until 11.30pm on Fridays andSaturdays – we will normally call “last orders”around 20 minutes before the bar closes.

If you book The Old Brewery Store for yourevening party, the standard finish time for bar,live music and discos is 11.00pm, however, for asmall supplement, you can extend this to 12.00midnight.

Do we pay a Damage Deposit?Yes, we will require £500 refundable DamageDeposit. This should be paid by credit card.

In the event of damage to equipment orproperty, the cost of repair or replacement shallbe deducted from the damage deposit andbalance refunded.

Can we bring our own drinks?Shepherd Neame produces an excellent range ofaward-winning ales and speciality lagers. TheVisitor Centre and Old Brewery Store bars alsostock a carefully chosen range of wines, spiritsand a selection of soft drinks. Therefore, we donot permit beverages of any kind to be broughtonto the site.

What happens if we cancel?In the event you wish to withdraw from yourcontract, you must advise us in writing as soonas possible.

In the event of cancellation the followingcharges will apply:

• Up to 180 days prior to the function: 50% oftotal deposit.

• Between 180 days and 21 days prior to thefunction: 100% of total deposit.

• Between 21 and 8 days prior the function: 50%of final invoice value.

• Between 7 days and 72 hours before thefunction: 75% of final invoice value.

• Less than 72 hours before the function: 100%of final invoice value.
