From our Pastor... Today, we celebrate the Epiphany, which means the appearance or revealing of the savior to humanity. It is interesting that God chose
three non-Jewish, priestly kings to visit Jesus first. This is no accident. The Jews were looking for a strong military king who would overthrow the Romans. Since most will not accept the Messiah as a religious leader, God widens his gift of salvation to all people who will accept him. Legend has it that the three wise men were scholars of astronomy and astrology. Melchior is a king of Persia; Gaspar is a king of India; and Balthazar is a king of Arabia. The magi bring gold (symbolizing the kingship of Jesus); frankincense (a fragrant incense symbolizing that Jesus will be a pleasant sacrifice to the Lord, wholly giving himself like a burnt offering); and myrrh (a spice used for embalming, symbolizing the death of Jesus). Blessings,

FIESTA DE LA EPIFANÍA Por Padre Jairo Congote

ROSARY LEADER NEEDED We are looking for volunteers to lead the rosary before Mass once a month. Help is needed at the 8:30 AM, 10:30AM and one more person for 5 P.M. Mass. Contact Linda with questions or to volun-teer: 402-564-7151 or [email protected].
ADORERS NEEDED We are in desperate need of adorers so that Jesus is not left unattended. Our parish has had Perpetual Adoration since 1961. We need to continue our beautiful tradition. Covid-19 has made our adorers fearful and many are making the choice not to come to attend Jesus. The Scotus chapel is safe, clean and you are easily
able to social distance as there are very few or limited attend-ance. Please consider taking an hour to be with Jesus. If you cannot take an hour would you consider being a substitute ador-er? We promise it will change your life and bring you closer to Our Lord. If you want to visit Jesus, He is always in the church (doors are unlocked between 6:00am - 7:00pm) but only exposed perpetually in the Scotus Chapel.
60 YEARS OF PERPETUAL ADORATION
Check out the new addition to our Home Page at https://stboncc.com. We have added a “digital” clock timer that is continually counting forward since our Adora-tion inception date, February 14, 1961 as we are quickly ap-proaching 60 years of Perpetual Adoration!
“It’s a wonderful thing to contemplate as you see all those sec-onds, minutes, hours, days and years ticking by and realize how many thousands and thousands of people have been gifted with that personal and special time with Jesus. Imagine the conversa-tions and lives that have been changed!”
-Tim Cumberland (Faithful Adorer since 2016)
NOVENA TO ST. JOSEPH FOR THE YEAR OF SAINT JOSEPH
Pope Francis announced a Year of St. Joseph Dec. 08 in honor of the 150th anniversary of the saint’s proclamation as patron of the Universal Church. The year begins Dec. 8, 2020, and concludes on Dec. 8, 2021, according to a decree authorized by the pope. The decree said that Francis had established a Year of St. Joseph so that “every member of the faithful, following his example, may strengthen their life of faith daily in the complete fulfillment of God’s will.”
Memorare to Saint Joseph Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who implored your help and sought your intercession were left unaided. Full of confidence in your power, I. fly unto you and beg your protection. Despise not, O Guardian of the Redeemer, my hum-ble supplication, but in your bounty, hear and answer me. Amen.
