Please advise the writer of any errors or omissions within 24 hours ( 1 business day) BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES None. 2 CULTURAL MINDFULNESS a) Training Update - Timmins Police Service Julie met with officials at the Timmins Police Service and received a copy of their cultural mindfulness training. Julie is working with TPS to share that information with the group and possibly have the TPS trainer run the Indigenous Advisory Committee through that training. 3 OTHER MATTERS a) Mural Project - Kristin Murray Councillor Murray updated the committee with the results of the first of ten ( 10) murals completed at the Victor M. Power Airport on May 4& 5, 2019. The next location for a mural will be at Porcupine Advance. b) Blanket Ceremony - Kristin Murray Councillor Murray will continue discussions with DSB representatives to plan for a blanket ceremony for the Indigenous Advisory Committee and others this fall.

2 CULTURAL MINDFULNESS

a) Training Update - Timmins Police Service

Julie met with officials at the Timmins Police Service and received a copy of their culturalmindfulness training. Julie is working with TPS to share that information with the group andpossibly have the TPS trainer run the Indigenous Advisory Committee through that training.

3 OTHER MATTERS

a) Mural Project - Kristin Murray

Councillor Murray updated the committee with the results of the first of ten ( 10) murals

completed at the Victor M. Power Airport on May 4& 5, 2019. The next location for a muralwill be at Porcupine Advance.

b) Blanket Ceremony - Kristin Murray

Councillor Murray will continue discussions with DSB representatives to plan for a blanketceremony for the Indigenous Advisory Committee and others this fall.

c) Evacuee Update - Dave Landers

Dave provided an update on the evacuation. Currently, the number of evacuees in Timminsis 850. Deputy Chief and others have returned to Kashechewan to evaluate the communityinfrastructure before giving the all- clear to begin repatriation.

d) Framework Update - Dave Landers

Councillor Murray and Dave provided a high- level overview and have requested input fromthe committee on the framework. As well, it was determined that this framework should

remain as a standing item on the committee agenda for Dave to report on progress againstthe framework.

e) Arranging for Elder for meetings

A consensus decision of the group was reached that an elder is not required at everymeeting, however that an elder may be requested from time to time and at special events.

fl Indigenous Day Celebration Update

Information received regarding National Indigenous Day celebration activities in thecommunity.

g) Signage/Website and Wording

There was a general discussion about signage and acknowledgement that signage shouldinclude both Cree and Ojibway language. Julie will start creating a database of translatorsand we will return to this item at the following meeting for discussion about the creation ofa sub-committee to seek funding for signs, signage replacement, and recommendations tocouncil about appropriate language use.

h) Resignation of Alain Lefebvre

Alain' s letter of resignation was read to the group and it was determined that anyoneinterested in standing as co-chair in Alain' s place would let their interest be known to StephPalmateer. As well, Steph is to contact the Metis Nation of Ontario to see if there is an

individual who would like to join our group in Alain' s absence as we are left without acontributing member from the Metis community. As well, it was determined that Steph

should follow up with Jasmin Lafreniere to ensure that she is able to participate and willbecome a member of the committee.

i) Network Updates

Members were given the opportunity to provide updates on activities that they have beeninvolved in that would be of interest to the group.

j) Next meeting date:

June 26, 2019

Robin Roy has provided his regrets as he will not be able to attend that meeting.
