President’s News for Wednesday 5 August
Morialta Meeting Last Week. (29 July) I hope all who attended our meeting last week, gained lots of information on all our club activities at present. The “In House Fellowship Night” is a great way for Directors to engage with all members on current projects and what is happening at Morialta. A brief overview of current matters.
Fundraising – Adel Abdelhamid and Graeme Packer Preparation for Breakfast in the Park – Sponsorship – We need suggestions of Local Business contacts to approach for sponsorship.
Club Program /Events – Brenton Summers The next major event is the D G’s Visit – Wednesday 12 August - Partner’s Night – in the Rezz Bistro Also the Combined Service Clubs dinner – Campbelltown Council on 25 August All members are asked to read the COG and the Club Web site to see the forward program of meetings and events. Brenton is updating the club program regularly with all meeting and event dates booked.
Youth Service – Judi Brown and Sue Pullens Planning for RYDA – 10 & 11 August is well underway. Judi has issued the program/duties list for all volunteers (15 persons each day) Final planning and communication by Judi at the meeting this week. (if any questions call Judi Brown)
National Youth Science Forum Dennis Heanes advised that we have a successful student- Mateuz Nowak – will speak at a club meeting on
16 September Rotaract Club of Sturt – a roster of dates for Morialta members to visit will be created.
International & District Service - Paul Haylock
Paul advised continuing liaison with Shelter Box and a proposal being submitted to the Board on a Myanmar Snakebite project.
Community Service – Graeme Packer Preparation for the CARA – Walk with Me event on 30 August. Community Workshop Extension Project - A lot of planning is now underway with the Council, various contractors and the Community Workshop Committee (Bob Pomeroy, Kevin and Barry ) to prepare for the commencement of construction on the project. As you can see from the above, it’s a busy period for all of us.
Morialta Meeting this Week (5 August) This week is a Committee Night. Each Committee Chair/ Director will be following up on current issues and planning for the next few months. Hope you can make it?

Guest speaker will be His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AO Governor of South Australia and he will be accompanied by his wife Mrs Le. Wednesday 26 August - NO meeting in lieu of Annual Service Clubs Dinner. Sunday 30 August – Walk with me – CARA – BBQ – Botanic Park see Graeme Packer and Adel if you can help. The walk itself starts at 11:00am, however registrations commence from 9:30am. Last year people
started arriving from 9am to register. If sausages could be ready to serve by 9:30/10am that would be
great. Last year approx. 1,200 people presented and they are hoping to build on this number this year
(although not everyone present will purchase from the BBQ).

I am President of Rotary Club of Pune Katraj, RI District 3131, India. I am proud to be a Rotarian and

I am writing to you all to appraise you on a unique event that we are organizing again this year. After
the huge success that we had in the year 2013-14, we are again back with ROGEC-2015, a global
essay competition with a view to crusaders of Peace in a constructive dialogue and allow them a
platform to express themselves on global issues concerning Peace.
This competition is open to all the citizens of the world. The winners will be invited to India for 5 days
and will get involved in various informative and cultural activities.
