When it happened & why it happened

On July 21rst of 1861, the Confederacy, a group of 11 states that seceded from the United States, bombed Fort Sumter and started the Civil War. Why? Many people think it was because of slavery, well it was in a way, but it was also because the South believed the States did not have as many rights as it should. The war ended in 1865 with the United States victorious.

Alliances

The Confederacy also had alliances with the French and British, they needed them because they could not make all of the ammunition and weapons they needed to win the war. After the British had lost to the United States during the revolutionary war, they still had a little rivalry, so they aided their enemies.

CannonsThe Napoleon was probably the most used cannon during the civil war because of its effectiveness, it also had a 12 pound shot.

This was a very light cannon during the time and could be transported more easily than most others, it was also used in both the Confederacy and the Union.

How did this war affect us?

If this war never happened then America would still be divided into two different countries, one of which may still support slavery.
