PIME (Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions.
PIME has been serving the poor for over 150 years. We
will have two members of the Institute joining us this
weekend to present the mission appeal on behalf of PIME.
The PIME Missionaries, are Catholic Priests and Brothers
who dedicate themselves to be lifelong messengers of the
Gospel to those who have not yet heard the Word of God.
Just as it was in those first days in the country, their mis-
sion remains the same: to spread news of the silent strug-
gles of our brothers and sisters in the missions and to con-
nect those whose spirits burn with the need to help.
Father George Berendt and Father Bruno Piccolo will be
joining us this weekend. Please make them feel welcome
and please be as generous as you can.

RCIA
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is a process through
which adults, after hearing the mystery of Christ pro-
claimed, consciously and freely seek the living God. By
God’s help, they will be strengthened spiritually during
their preparation and will receive the sacraments fruitfully.
In other words, RCIA is the Catholic way to bring together
adults who are curious about faith. RCIA is for people who
were never baptized or were baptized in another faith or
were baptized Catholic, but never received the sacraments
of Eucharist or Confirmation. If you are interested in the
Catholic faith or have a friend or relative who may be in-
terested, please call Fr. Charles at (617) 364-9501.

Dear Parishioners,
Last Monday evening staff from the Archdiocese of Boston met with our Pastoral Council, Finance
Council and the Blue Hills Collaborative Staff discussing the appointment of a new pastor to our col-
laborative.
This meeting was an opportunity for the councils/staff to share their insight into the needs of our par-
ishes. All council members were invited to share their thoughts concerning our parishes and the ap-
pointment of a new pastor.
The ministry of Father Ron was highlighted by many individuals for his welcoming attitude his win-
ning personality, his ability to connect with all parishioners, thoughtful homilies and bringing a new
spirit of life to the parishes.
A number of council members reflected upon the activities that have united the collaborative over
these past several years. A number of council members expressed their belief that many activities
have united our three parishes in the collaborative effectively and would not want to change the ar-
rangement. Concerns were expressed for our Haitian Community, our liturgical celebrations, the
decline in vocations, welcoming spirit in our parishes, engaging parishioners in the life of our parish-
es, homilies, our spirituality and a number of other concerns. All shared information will be dis-
cussed at the Personnel Board meetings in Braintree.
Father Robert Blaney, Secretary for Ministerial Personnel fielded questions from council members
and explained the process Cardinal Sean uses in order to appoint pastors to parishes.
The Clergy Personnel Board in the coming weeks will make a recommendation to Cardinal Sean
concerning the appointment of a candidate to be pastor of the Blue Hills Collaborative. Council
members were encouraged to be creative and welcoming to the new pastor when he arrives.
Council members and parishioners were encouraged to pray during this time of transition that the
Holy Spirit will guide our churches and our Cardinal Sean as we await the appointment of a new
pastor.
Blessings always,
Fr Michael

Feeling the Call of a Religious Vocation?
A part of the Collaborative Pastoral Plan includes encour-
aging all young people, male and female, to discern how
God is calling them. Are you being invited to share the
mission of Jesus as a priest, deacon or in the consecrated
life? The Lord calls each of us to live a life of holiness, a
life of friendship with God. It is a call that we
acknowledge, or others acknowledge for us, at Baptism, a
call we respond to as we follow the Commandments and
the precepts of the Church. It is the Universal Call to Ho-
liness. For more information please contact Father Bova
Conti or Father Charles at 857-342-9500.

tiser in our bulletin) will be here on September

TEEN MASS!
FOR TEENS, BY TEENS
ALL ARE WELCOME:
We are hoping to establish a Teen Mass once a
month. It will be planned by the parish Teens, they will
decide on the music, serve as Altar servers, Collectors,
Lectors, and Eucharistic Ministers. We hope to bring in
priests who are involved with parish youth. If you are 13
or older and would like to take part in the planning, please
contact either Alyssa Sarkis, Matt O’Neil, Sheila Farley or
Anna Cote.
The first Mass is scheduled for October and we
need to start now. Please watch for more details about the
Teen Mass.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! If you are in the 4th grade
or older we can use your help. Many of the current altar
servers are no longer available.
Many Masses do not have altar
servers to help our priests or the
same people are serving every
week. If you could give us just one
hour twice a month it would be a
great help. If you can only serve
once a month we appreciate your
stepping forward. If you would like more information or
think you might like to learn more please contact Anna
Cote, Director of Ministries at
[email protected] or call 857-342-9500.
Children's Liturgy of the Word resumes this fall at
the 9:00 am Mass at Most Precious Blood (beginning
Oct 6) and at the 10:30 Mass at St. Pius (beginning Sep
22). The children gather with their families in church for
the introductory rites of the Mass, then after the opening
hymn and prayer, children and the leaders are called for-
ward for a blessing. The children and leaders go downstairs
to the church hall to hear the readings of the day from
the Children's Lectionary, which uses words more easily
understood by young children. The Gospel is explored
through discussion, along with an activity or craft. The
children will return to their fami-
lies following the Profession of
Faith and Prayers of the Faithful.
Children of any age who wish to
participate are encouraged to come
forward when they are called.
