Learning Matters…a

Important Information

Our last splash day was on August 24th.

Thank you for everyone that participated in

this every Friday. The children had a blast

every Friday. Now time to start thinking

fall activities!

Kids cannot be left unattended for any

reason. Please make sure that your child is

within an arm reach when you enter and

exit the building. Please do not send

children back into the building after you

exit without and adult present.

We are kindly asking that anyone picking

up or visiting during nap time hours to be

very quiet and try not to wake others when

entering or exiting the classroom. We try

to keep the classrooms quiet with light

music playing, however when the doors

slam or there is loud talking it can interrupt

others naptimes. We appreciate your help

in this matter.

It is so hard to believe that summer is

coming to an end. This is a great time to

look in your child’s cubby bin and make

sure they have weather appropriate

clothing and that they are the proper sizes.

Please make sure that they have clothing

for warmer weather and cooler weather as

this is a tough time to plan as the weather

changes daily.

The weather will be changing soon and

with that can bring colds as well as the flu

season will be starting. Brandi’s Place

cleans the classrooms daily as well as

sanitize toys each day. We try our best to

keep the germs to a minimum. However,

we would like to remind everyone of our

sick policy. If your child has a fever, they

must be fever free without medication for

24 hours before they can return. If your

child is vomiting or has diarrhea, they must

be free of these before they return for 24

hours. If your child becomes ill while at

the center, parents will be called. We

kindly ask that you pick up your child

within one hour. Thank you for helping us

keep everyone healthy.

September 3rd Friendly reminder that we will be closed on Monday, September 3rd for the Labor Day holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday with regular business hours.

Cubby Move Cubby’s will be moved during the week of August 27th to allow for us to transition into our fall schedule. Our latchkey children will have their lockers as well. Please keep in mind that we do go by schedules and there are times that our latchkey children may have two families to one locker or three children. Each family will have a bin should they need to put snacks or other items in the bin. Please see your child’s teacher or the front desk if you need help locating your child’s new cubby.

Young 5’s Our young 5’s class will officially start the week of September 10th. Each

parent has a packet included in this newsletter. This explains our young 5’s

classroom as well as what they will be focusing on throughout the year. This

will also give times that the program begins and the importance of being here

on time so that your child does not miss any learning activities. Our Young 5’s

classroom mimics a kindergarten classroom and has a set schedule that they

follow throughout the year. They will also be working on a portfolio

throughout the year which will be given at graduation so that parents can see

the progress that they have made throughout the past year. You will also be

invited to a graduation ceremony and receive a cap and gown photo at the

end of the year.

Your packet also includes a parent pledge. Please return this to your child’s

teacher which will be placed in their file and put in their portfolio at the end

of the year. Please watch your child’s folder for information about your child’s

class throughout the year. We are excited to start the new school year and

start all of our fun activities!

Bus Reminder & Parking Lot Reminder It’s that time of year again… school is beginning and the school buses will be out. Please remember to watch for them on the roads when you are commuting to and from work. Be prepared to stop if you see the yellow lights and red flashing lights means you MUST stop. In our parking lot they do not use the lights, however our policy states that when the bus is stopped in the parking lot that cars stay in park. DO NOT move your cars. This is for the safety of everyone. Children load and unload the bus in the parking lot. We want to keep everyone as safe as possible. The bus driver does notify us if cars are moving so that we can notify you. As stated on the school website… Be aware it is illegal in every state to pass a school bus stopped to load/unload students. Know and understand laws governing motorist’s driving behavior near a school bus. Learning the “flashing light system” that school bus drives use to alert motorists if they are going to stop to load/unload students. Know and understand that yellow flashing lights indicate the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. Motorists should slow down and prepare to stop their vehicles. Know and understand that red flashing lights and extended that red flashing lights and extended stop arms indicate that the bus has stopped, and that children are getting on or off. Motorist MUST stop their cars. Begin moving only when the red flashing lights are turned off. Watch out for young people who may be thinking about getting to school, but may not be thinking about getting there safely. Slow Down. Watch for children walking in the street, especially if there are no sidewalks in the neighborhood. Watch for children playing and gathering near bus stops. Be Alert. Children arriving late for the bus may dart into the street without looking for traffic.

Help to keep our children safe at Brandi’s Place and in our community!

Tuition Letter & Supply Fee

Friendly reminder that it is that time of the year that

our yearly supply fee is due. You will find letters

regarding the tuition and yearly supply fee in your

newsletter envelope.

Yearly supply fee is due by September 13th. Parents

may make payments on their accounts up until that

date if they choose to do so. The full amount is due by

the 13th. Yearly supply fees are $60 for the first child

and an additional $10 for every child after that.

Please see the front desk if you have any questions

regarding the enclosed letters.

Hello! We are pleased to send you this

monthly issue of Brandi’s Buzz. We want to

keep you up to date with upcoming events as

well as some parenting tips, communication

and of course a little bit of humor! It is our

way saying that you are important to us and

we truly value your family. Enjoy!

It’s the time of year…

Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice!

Daily Connect

Our daily connect program allows for parents to access their child’s daily schedules throughout the day as the teachers put them

in. This is for our infant classroom through our 3yr (Beginning Preschool) classrooms. Parents can also use this at home if they

wish to do so. You may upload pictures to use as your child’s profile picture as well. Teachers will also add a profile picture as

well. We are asking parents that decide to upload pictures to please make sure that it is a close up picture and not a picture that is

hard to see. Please keep in mind that there is a “messaging” function, however the teachers may not always see this and cannot

message you back. Our messaging function is turned off. Teachers don’t always look at the list of items that are coming in as they

are just imputing items. The best way to reach a teacher or get a message to them is to call the main line. A director will relay the

message or have the teacher come up the front desk.

There are times that our internet (Comcast) has issues and may go in and out throughout the day. We have contacted Comcast on

several occasions and are always given the answer “they are working in the area.” If you are not seeing the items upload please

contact us and we will be happy to have the teachers restart the tablet (which sometimes will help) or let you know if the internet

is temporarily down. When we lose internet it is usually down for a few minutes and comes right back on. This can interrupt the

downloading of the tablets (daily connect) though. We apologize for this and are still working on this issue with Comcast. They

understand the importance of this as well.

Please see the front desk or your child’s teacher if you have any questions regarding the daily connect. We will be happy to help

you.

Labeling Items Please help our teachers and make sure that everything is labeled. There are many children that share lockers and it is important to make sure that each items is labeled with their name or initials. Markers can be found at the front desk if you need one. Bottles and sippy cups must be labeled as well. Our infant room has a basket if you need masking tape and a marker to label your bottles. Labeling items will also help others that are picking up children. Having items labeled with help your family members or friends know what items are theirs should they pick up from time to time.
