DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
Day 1- USA-Algarve
Depart the US on your overnight flight to the Algarve via Lisbon. Relax and enjoy dinner
and a movie onboard.
Day 2 - Arrive Algarve
Arrival in Algarve and transfer to your hotel. Free time today allows you to begin your
explorations of this beautiful coastal region of Portugal. Enjoy the beauty of this dramatic
and scenic stretch of Portuguese coast. Many shops, restaurants and cafes are located near
your hotel. Welcome Dinner with wine at the hotel. Overnight in Algarve.
Day 3 - Tour to Loule Market
After breakfast, we’ll take you on a half day trip to the charming Loule Market, located in
the busiest inland town, where you will be able to stroll around the narrow streets and
visit the Medieval Castle and city wall as well as this typical Portuguese Market, with the
countrymen and women selling fish, fruits and fresh vegetables. See craftsmen,
coppersmiths, and basket and harness makers.

Day 4 - Tour to Lagos & Sagres
After breakfast we head for Lagos, a town linked to the Portuguese Discoveries. Guided
visit of the Antonine Museum within the Golden Chapel of St. Anthony the slave market
and statue of Prince Henry the Navigator. Then on to Sagres to visit the village, the fishing
harbor and Cape St. Vincent. Dinner with wine at the hotel. Overnight in Algarve.
Day 5 - Full Day Tour of the Best of the East
After breakfast the tour begins with Faro and a visit to the Bone Chapel within the Carmo
Church, the Old Town and the XIII century Cathedral. Drive over to Olhao, a city built
under Arab influence with where we will visit the waterfront markets and old quarter.
(Lunch is included). In the afternoon, drive to Santa Luzia, a picturesque and unspoiled
village renowned for fishing activities, and Tavira to visit the old castle ruins, Santa Maria
do Castelo Church and famous IV century Roman bridge.
Dinner with wine at the hotel. Overnight in Algarve.
Day 6 - Algarve-Cascais & Lisbon city tour
Lisbon
Breakfast and transfer to Faro airport for your short flight to Lisbon. Upon arrival you will
be transferred to the resort town of Cascais where you’ll spend the next 4 days. Afternoon
sightseeing city tour of Lisbon will include the Jeronimos Monastery, the quaint Alfama,
and the former Moorish quarters with its narrow and twisting streets, cobblestone alleys,
and small whitewashed houses. We will drive to the historical Belem district, where you
will see the Tower of Belem, Monument to the Discoverers, and the unique Manueline
architecture of the Jeronimos Monastery.

Day 7: Full day Sightseeing tour of Fatima, Óbidos, Alcobaça, Nazaré, and Batalha
After breakfast, you will be met by the tour escort to begin your tour of Fatima and
surrounding towns. By a landscape rich in windmills and fruit trees we arrive to Óbidos,
surrounded by medieval walls where we can admire the harmony of its architecture, and
the diversity of their handicrafts. Visit Alcobaça and the first and largest gothic church in
Portugal holding the tombs of Dom Pedro and Inês de Castro, known by their love story.
We will stop in Nazaré, a typical fishing village and seaside resort with its traditions and
legends. After your included lunch in this Portuguese fishing village, we continue to
Batalha to visit the Monastery of Santa Maria de Victoria, a masterpiece of the gothic in
Portugal (entrance fees included) where we can find the tomb of Henry the Navigator, the
promoter of the maritime discoveries. After the visits, we arrive in Fatima, the famous
Marian Shrine and center of the Catholic faith and world pilgrimage. (Lunch is included)

Day 8: Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Sintra Deluxe visiting Pena Palace, Sintra, the
Royal Palace, Colares, Cabo da Roca, Guincho, Boca do Inferno, Cascais, and Estoril
After breakfast, discover with us the magnificent Sintra village where the Royal Family
used to live during the summers and taste the local traditional pastry in this charming
region. Visit Sintra and the formidable Pena Palace (entrance fees included) and leave for
the town of Colares on tramway (lunch is included) and on to Cabo de Roca, Europe’s
westernmost point and the incredible Boca do Inferno. We later visit the Cosmopolitan
Cascais, and the Casino Estoril gardens.

Day 9: At leisure in Cascais
Day at leisure to stroll and perhaps doing some shopping. Embroidery, tastefully
handicraft table cloths, and Lladro porcelain are typical goods that can be purchased in
Portugal as well as Port wine and leather articles.

Day 10: Lisbon-USA: After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home,
arriving later today.
