Intro to the Sewing Machine ($45) our most popular sewing class is great for beginners, intermediate & veteran sewers, alike Are you ready to jump into sewing but feeling a little stressed about all the ins and outs of your machine? Let our sewing experts take the frustration out of learning how to properly use and care for your new piece of machinery. In this class you will get cozy with all the bits and buttons, all the doo-dads and dials... and learning to sew will be a cinch! Learning the proper names for all the machine parts will help you understand sewing instructions and tutorials in the future. We’ll guide you through all the steps of threading and bobbin-winding and you will learn some basic “troubleshooting” techniques for when and/or if your stitching ever goes wacky. You’ll also put this new knowledge to use right away to make a cute little pin-cushion for your sewing kit! Bring along your machine or reserve one of ours (all other materials are included). Commercial Patterns: A Line Skirt ($95) an advanced-beginner class, we recommend this workshop as the follow-up to our Intro to the Sewing Machine Class

Commercial patterns are the easiest way to a finished project, but a

beginner may find them a little daunting. Let us decipher all the

confusing information for you and guide you all the way through the

construction of this chic garment! You’ll learn all the basics of

working with a commercial pattern, including:

*how to read instructions and diagrams

*how to measure your body for a commercial garment pattern

*how to lay out and cut your fabric using a pattern

*pinning, sewing and pressing techniques

*sewing with an invisible zipper

*hemming and topstitching options

*finishing and basic alteration skills

The Weekend Stitch: The Simple Dress ($125) Yes, it’s true that the perfect dress for you to wear during the winter, spring, summer and fall DOES exist, and we’re going to teach you how to whip one up for yourself over the weekend. Using this awesome Tilly & the Buttons pattern, you’ll learn how to properly navigate this advanced beginner pattern (sewable for all who’ve used a machine before, we promise), learn how to use knit material, and have a blast while doing it all. Although this class is best if you are familiar with your machine, all skill levels are welcome and will be successful creating your favorite new dress. Jewelry 101 Workshop want to learn how to bead? This is your class. Unlike other beginner jewelry classes, in this class you get to make the jewelry you want. Be prepared at the top of class to select from a wide variety of gemstones, crystal and unique glass beads to create the single, double, or triple strand necklace of your dreams! By the end of the class, you'll have plenty of practice, and a lovely pair of earrings and necklace or bracelet to wear home. For the course, we will provide all tools and supplies. Wire-wrapping is an essential part of jewelry-making for any designer. This course will jump right into creating beautiful wire-wrapped rings. With a little skill, the variety of rings you can create is endless. No previous jewelry experience is necessary.

For the course, we will provide a set of tools and supplies. If you have special beads you'd like to use, be sure to bring them with you for your creation. Taught by June Lee.

wire-wrapping 101 ($45)

You see wire-wrapped designs and love them. Now we're going to teach you to make them yourself. Wire-wrapping is an essential part of jewelry-making for any designer. Securing your jewelry, while making it more beautiful with wraps is the differentiating factor between simple jewelry, and elegant jewelry. In this 2 hour course, you will learn to make a basic bead loop, wrapped bead loop (the wrapped earring!), and wrapped briolette. By the end of the class, you'll have plenty of practice, and a lovely pair of earrings and bracelet or necklace to wear home. For the course, we will provide all tools and supplies. If you have special beads you'd like to use (preferably small rondelle or round shaped faceted beads, no larger than 6mm in size), be sure to bring them with you for your creation. soldering 101 workshop ($55)

Ever wanted to learn the A-B-C's of soldering, but don't quite know where to start?

Quench your metal urges! In this intensive, 3 hour class you will learn the ancient art of metal soldering and forging. No cookie cutter stuff here. Each student will design and create their very own, one-of-a-kind jewelry piece. Whether you want a signet ring for yourself, an initial bracelet for Mom, a pretty pendant, or a cool stacked metal cuff, the possibilities are endless and are only limited by your imagination.

soldering 101 - the love knot ring ($55)

Love is eternal and always in-style. Why not wear your heart on your finger and develop some new silversmithing skills while you are at it? In this beginning metalsmithing workshops, students will learn how to transform precious metal into a beautiful and sentimental piece for themselves of someone they love. Skills taught will include annealing, shaping forging, soldering and polishing of sterling silver. Students may chose between a single love knot, double love knot, double entwined knot or infinity symbol. Brass earrings with sterling ear wires or a brass bracelet are also offered as an alternative.

Double Domed Earrings In this easy and fun 3 hour class, you will learn how to turn scrap metal into gorgeous, domed earrings. I will teach you how to cut, file, hammer and shape dull, lifeless metal into gleaming one of-a-kind body adornment that you will wear every day! There will many beautifully patterned and plain metals to choose from including brass, copper, pewter, aluminum and silver plate. You will also learn how shape beautiful, sterling silver wire into “Shepard’s hooks” to connect your fabulous new earrings to your ears. No experience necessary. All tools and materials provided. All you need is a sense of adventure and willingness to have fun!

Ever wonder how you can live a greener lifestyle and still be a stunning fashionista? It’s easy! Learn how to turn trash into treasures and garbage into gorgeous in this new earth-friendly beehive class!.

Metal stamping 101 - ($45)

Everyone loves to express themselves with words. Here, we'll teach you how to stamp out your favorite messages on wearable jewelry. In this class, you will learn the A-B-C's of jewelry metal stamping, including learning about metal gauges, practicing stamping on different metals (brass, stainless steel and aluminum), proper filing techniques, texturizing your jewelry blanks to create a hammered effect, and more. By the end of the class, you will walk away with two beautiful new pieces to call your own. For the course, we will provide all tools, and some supplies are available for sale. Be sure to bring your favorite sayings and

messages with you to stamp the class away. All materials and tools provided. Taught by Malene Davis.

Resin Casting 101 - ($45)

Mixed chemicals truly make cool jewels. It is a fact that resin is one of the most diverse mediums that may be used to create beautiful jewelry. In this class, you'll learn the basics of creating resin jewelry, learning several different methods to create a pendant necklace and pair of earrings or ring for you to take away with you at the end of class. From the sophisticated use of multiple bezels, to memorializing your favorite family or friend's photos, letters, or drawings, to adding vintage watch pieces to steam-punk it on out, the choices are endless. We'll also allow you to play with unconventional materials that you can embed in your projects to give them that extra special something with texture and form. The class will cover using a traditional pre-fab silicone mold, a free pouring process, and how to properly mix transparent dyes to create a wide variety of color mixes in your jewelry. Class attendees will be able to choose which type of jewelry they'd like to make (using the aforementioned processes) during the course of class. All projects will cure overnight and will be available for pick-up the next business day in the store. Taught by Amy Gresens.

the upcycled infinity scarf ($45) who doesn't love, love, love an infinity scarf? Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! Do you have a plethora of old t-shirts sitting in your drawer? Let’s turn them into something you’ll actually wear. In this quick and fun workshop we’ll be making infinity scarves from cotton t-shirts. Each student will be able to make 2-3 scarves in class. Some t-shirt material will be provided but students are encouraged to bring their own t-shirts if they have a specific color in mind. Vintage brooches, wire, and other adornment will be on-hand to make your upcycled scarf truly a one-of-a-kind piece.

This is the perfect class to learn the basics of crochet, all while creating one of the most popular hair accessories. In this 2-hour class, you will learn 4 basic stitches used to create just about anything you can imagine. Each student will be provided with a variety of yarn to choose from to create their project and a handy illustrated chart of the stitches learned for reference at home. Be sure to bring along your own 1-5.5 or 6.0 crochet hook to get the party started. Taught by Beth Liversidge

crocheted ear warmers for adults ($50)

The craft of crochet has endless possibilities, as is seen in the hundreds of variations of crocheted ear warmers that are on the market today. In this class - good for intermediate beginners on up (it is advised you have some familiarity with crochet) - you will learn the process of stitching that will allow you to create the ear warmer of your design. After your initial ear warmer design is done, create a smaller piece to turban it up, or add a flower or bow for a bit of pizzazz. As we said, sky’s the limit! A 1-5.5 or 6.0 crochet hook is required for the class. Yarn will be available, but feel free to bring your own along for a specific color-way. Taught by Beth Liversidge.

scented candle workshop ($45) Oh, the things a good scented candle do for us…. Calms us down after a busy day, gives our room romantic, soothing lighting, and smells good to boot. How’s about learning to make candles all on your own, in the scent that you love the most? Read on to learn how. Candles serve a multiple function in our lives: They create a soothing, calming, aromatic environment, and lights the way when you need 'em to. In this class, you will receive a full rundown of basic candle-making equipment, supplies, fragrance oils, wicks and the various types of supplies and materials you can use to continue your candle making at home. A comprehensive handout covering your candle-making process will be provided for you to keep at the end of the class. Whether you are making candles for yourself, for gifts, or to sell, this is the class you've been looking for! It's hands-on and packed with information.

In this 1.5 hour workshop, we will be using soy flakes and high-quality fragrance oils to create our candles. Each participant will walk away with 4 scented tin candles (a $40 value), and the knowledge and confidence to continue the craft on their own. Supplies will be for sale after the class to continue the craft at home.

you how to make your own. Join her for a two-hour creative session to learn to make the perfect accessory for the season. This is a

fun, festive (and great smelling) class that is perfect for a group of friends to enjoy the afternoon or evening.

Who doesn't love the change of summer to fall... you plan to spend time with family, and can refresh your house to make it represent the impending holiday season. We want to help you put some pizzazz on your home by creating your own one-of-a-kind ribbon wreath. Trust us, everyone will smile with glee when they are greeted with the happiness you'll hang on the front door.

All materials for the class will be provided, and each participant will have a chance to fully decorate their wreath with felted flowers (you'll get a DIY on those, too) and other garnishment to make your wreath especially yours.

This is a limited fall season workshop.

pop-up class: felted acorn workshop ($40) In this class you will learn the basics of wet felting to create super cute felted acorns that will last you forever. Wet felting is an addictive craft that you'll be teaching to your friends and family in no time. Felted acorns are perfect for creating decorations for the cooler weather and Fall/Winter holidays. String them together to create a garland, hand them individually to decorate your home as ornaments, or gather tons of them on a wreath for a fantastic holiday statement. All materials are provided in the class; you'll make as many acorns as the time allows.

Crocheted ear warmers {for tweens} ($55) better for the tween who has a little experience with his or her crochet needle, this class will allow their creativity to run wild. They’ll utilize the 4 basic crochet stitches to cre-ate an ear-warmer (perfect for the fall). After creating their initial project, they can move forward at home to create a flower or bow adornment to make it extra special.

Kids crochet hair accessories class gives your tweens & teens the chance to learn a fun craft and show off their style! Kids crochet is taught by Elizabeth Liversidge, who also teaches our adult sip & stitch crochet classes. Kids will learn 4 basic crochet stitches to create super cute and stylish headbands, barrettes, and bows. Each student will be provided with a variety of yarns to create their projects, hair accessory findings (clips, barrettes, elastics...), and an illustrated guide of the stitches and patterns to keep. All tween crochet classes taught by Beth Liversidge.

Holiday ornaments & garlands {for tweens} ($55) a fantastically fun workshop for tweens of all crochet levels, to make it extra special. They’ll love decorating their room (or the tree) with their new garland after learning all the basic skills of crochet.
