Chapter 5: Friends

Welcome back to the Absedy Alphabet ISBI Challenge! Last time, Laura became and elder and seems to have forgotten that she ever got married.

Well, I guess it’s time to talk to her about it.

So, uh, Laura. Do you remember getting married now?

Laura: “Of course I do. I was only kidding. What kind of sim would forget their husband just because they got older?”

Komei: “That’s not very funny Laura. I’m not that forgettable.”

Well, Komei, most of the time I forget you’re even here.

Laura: “Thanks for finishing your homework so fast. It was a really struggle to get your sister to finish hers.”

Aislin: “I think a spider could finish homework faster than Aelwin.”

What’s that supposed to even mean?

Whatcha doin.

Laura: “Reading a book.”

Why?

Laura: “I figured I should probably start taking my lifetime want seriously. If I’m ever going to reach it, then I need skill points. And you never said anything about me getting back into law enforcement. Which I did.”

Um. Laura got back into Law Enforcement.

Laura: “Better.”

It’s been really hard to find time for Laura to study, since she’s so busy taking care of everyone and everything.

Aelwin: “Why do you always make spaghetti for dinner?”

Laura: “Do you want to take the time to make something fancier? I don’t.”

Aelwin: “I guess that works.”

Laura: “Now do your homework.”

Aelwin: “Aw, come on mom. I have a friend over.”

Laura: “Homework.”

Amaryllis: “This is my best friend.”

That’s kind of sad.

Amaryllis: “No one pays attention to me unless mom is telling me to get my homework done.”

…

Amaryllis: “Too bad you can’t talk.”

It’s almost like she knows I’m here…

Hey! Laura! Guess what?

Laura: “Mmgrph.”

It’s a snow day! You know what that means? No homework today! Woot Woot!

Laura: *rolls over*

Ah, come on. Aren’t you excited?

Amaryllis: “Why are you two always in your underwear?”

That is a really good question. I want to know too. Not that my opinion matters to any of you, but still.

Aelwin: “Buzz off.”

Aislin: “Be nice to our little sister.”

Aelwin: “Meh.”

I’m not sure I like that you’re associating with the evil witch.

Laura: “So what?”

I don’t think this is just a ‘so what’.

Who would do that?

That makes me sad. It was Amaryllis’s best friend, too.

Amaryllis: “Hehe, I’m bigger now. I can make tons of friends.”

Well, I’m bored.

Amaryllis: “Good food. Did you make it?”

Aislin: “No one in this house has the skill level to make this. The nanny made it at some point.”

Amaryllis: “Still tastes good.”

Aelwin: “Look at this! I have good grades.”

Yeah, that’s what happens when you actually do your homework.

Aislin: “I just know I failed. And then I’ll never be able to get a job.”

Which is apparently a thing. A teen with bad grades can’t get a job.

Aislin: “I finally got a job.”

Yeah. She ended up rolling into law enforcement coincidently. As a school crossing guard. Hehe.

Aelwin: “Mom, I hate this guy.”

Guy: “I hate this girl.”

Laura: “Ah, seems that love is in the air.”

Are we reading the same air waves?

Would you look at that. Aislin set off our first fire. I’m glad I remembered the fire alarm.

I love how the one who actually set it off is the only one not freaking out.

Back to the books I see.

Laura: “That looks interesting.”

Yeah, In know. You want me to go away.

Laura: “That looks good, too.”

Are you ignoring me?

Laura: *continues reading*

Can you not hear me anymore?
