Current focus: clear the NPRR backlog and synchronize projects to a common baseline

To maintain overall system integrity – for Nodal to work as a whole – each project has to be synchronized on an explicit, current, common baseline

We have agreed the next baseline for projects to synchronize on: “Baseline 1”…*

Baseline 1 (March 31, 2007)

The “Impact Categorization Matrix” helps triage the impacts for all the items across all the projectsThe “Impact Categorization Matrix” helps triage the impacts for all the items across all the projects

23 of the 63 (36%) items have all projects with a

minimal or no impact (category 3 or 4)

40 of the 63 (64%) items have at least 1 project with a

high or a medium impact (category 1 or 2)

* Work in progress – counts may change

Examples of the item types in a baseline group…

NPRR 48 - Revised Wording of Opportunity Outages for Transmission Facilities

The proposed Opportunity Outages rewording will allow ERCOT to grant a TSP permission to work on TSP-owned equipment that can only be maintained when a Resource is off-line for a Forced, Planned or

Maintenance Outage.

White Paper 004 – Power Flow Consistency Requirements

In order that ERCOT achieve the objective of ensuring consistent results from the power flows supplied by the different vendors, it would be necessary to stipulate a consistent methodology, algorithm and

tolerances to be used by all vendors. The remainder of this white paper focuses on that.

Change Item (CI) 57 – Move Resource Parameters from Registration to MMS

ERCOT had planned to implement all Resource parameters in the Registration system. Upon review by TPTF, the market participants observed that some parameters must be updated more frequently than the registration system accommodated.  ERCOT revised the system design to allow a rapid change in some

parameters through the MMS system.

Goals & Characteristics of Readiness Metrics

Goals of Readiness Metrics Encourage early participation Minimize delinquency Inform market of readiness declarations Motivational tool for the market as a whole

Characteristics of Metrics Easy to understand (unambiguous) – linked to Transition Plan where

possible Easy to calculate (reliable) – simple roll-up and grading rules Easy to communicate – red, amber, green Incorporates Market Participant self reporting & ERCOT Observability

Timing of Metrics Progressive measurement through the readiness sequence Forwarding looking, including lead indicators

Roll-up model: The roll-up will present a summarized view of ERCOT readiness metrics by department. RAG status will reflect the ability of each department to hit readiness goals related to

Training, Procedure Development, and Organization Design by the appropriate project milestones (typically correlated to EDS phases.)
