It comprises 159 members and associates in 124 countries and jurisdictions, representing more than 2.5 million accountants in public practice, education, government service, industry and commerce.

The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) is a statutory body established to regulate and develop the accountancy profession in Malaysia. MIA currently has close to 26,000 members.
