NY State Real Estate 30 Hours Remedial Licensing Course

This New York State Real Estate 30 hours remedial Licensing Course meets the new 75-hour requirement and is the mandatory prerequisite in acquiring the NYS Broker’s License. Topics include: Contract Preparation, Predatory Lending, Pricing Properties, Municipal Agencies, Property Insurance, Taxes and Assessment, Condominiums and Cooperatives, Commercial and Investment Properties, Income Tax Issues in Real Estate Transactions, Mortgage Brokerage, and Property Management. NY State Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Course (75 hours) This New York State Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Course meets the new 75-hour requirement and is the mandatory prerequisite to taking the NYS Real Estate Salesperson Exam. This New York State Real Estate Broker Licensing Course meets the new 45-hour requirement and is the mandatory prerequisite in acquiring the New York State Broker’s License. Prerequisites: Salespersons that received their license after July 2008. Satisfactory completion of the New York State Salesperson Licensing Course. Salespersons that took the Salesperson’s 45-hour course before July 2008 are required by the New York State Department of State to take the 30-hour remedial licensing course to meet the required 120 hours to qualify for a broker’s license. Project Management Certificate

The Project Management Certificate Program develops key leadership skills necessary for succeeding in today’s business environment and is designed for new and prospective managers and newly promoted supervisors from both technical and non-technical professions. Learn the theory and practice of direct action community organizing and how to distinguish it from other forms of activism and community service. Professional Pharmacy Technician Test Preparation

This course provides instruction to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s National Examination. Pharmacy Technicians assist a Pharmacist in: obtaining medical information and profiles from patients;

accepting refill request; maintaining pharmacy inventory; reordering medications; reading prescriptions to select, count and pour medicines; entering prescription data and generating prescription labels on computer; and other pharmacy related tasks under the supervision of a pharmacist. Kingian Nonviolence Certificate This course offers a dynamic introduction to Martin Luther King Jr.’s philosophy, thinking and strategy. It is useful for individuals who frequently respond to conflict situations and provides a framework for conflict transformation/management, mediation and arbitration. This internationally recognized certificate serves as a pre-requisite for those interested in becoming Certified Nonviolence Trainers. This Training will be facilitated by Arthur Romano. Arthur is a level-two certified Kingian Nonviolence Trainer and accomplished international educator who currently teaches with the National Peace Academy.

Natural Hair Care Braiding Certificate This personal grooming program will help you learn how to braid and care for hair using a variety of techniques.

This class is designed to introduce the non-braider to the basic skills of braiding with extensions. You will learn traditional cornrows and single braiding techniques. Emphasis is placed on grooming and maintaining braiding styles, as well as sanitation, sterilization and health regulations. This course will also enhance your ability to cornrow and braid with extensions as a professional and include discussion of hair care products, professional ethics and ways to develop advanced styling techniques. Personal Development Institute Legacy Media TV/Film Production Certificate In response to the growing demand from the entertainment industry for talented, qualified, diverse employees, Legacy Media Group, in collaboration with Adult & Continuing Education at Medgar Evers College, is offering a TV/Film Production Certificate Program. The program will train you in various areas of TV/Film Production, including but not limited to Production Assistant, Production Coordinating, Line Producing, Lighting, Art Directing, Acting, Casting, Editing, Camera Operators, Directing, Make-up, Wardrobe, Screenwriting, Reality TV Writing, Pilot Writing, Production Management and Budgeting. The purpose of the program is to produce and train the future production workforce for the city of New York through hands on practical training in Film, Theatre and Broadcasting. Throughout the Program, students who enroll will have access to an ideal practical learning experience building not only specialized skills but character, self-respect, integrity and a deeper appreciate for a career in the arts. The program includes six weeks of hands-on training followed by a four-week, eight hours per week, Internship Program. Classes will run for 6 weeks, followed by a 4-week internship program.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS: Certificates of successful completion are issued to all students who satisfactorily complete the Certificate Program. They are mailed within three weeks after the completion of the course. Certificates may be withheld pending receipt of all outstanding tuition and fees. A $10 fee is charged to reissue certificates, completion letters or transcripts. SPECIAL TUITION DISCOUNT: Tuition discounts of 20% are available for courses over $100 to MEC students, faculty and staff with a current valid ID, and senior citizens over 62.
