NY State Real Estate 30 Hours Remedial Licensing Course This New York State Real Estate 30 hours remedial Licensing Course meets the new 75-hour requirement and is the mandatory prerequisite in acquiring the NYS Broker’s License. Topics include: Contract Preparation, Predatory Lending, Pricing Properties, Municipal Agencies, Property Insurance, Taxes and Assessment, Condominiums and Cooperatives, Commercial and Investment Properties, Income Tax Issues in Real Estate Transactions, Mortgage Brokerage, and Property Management. NY State Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Course (75 hours) This New York State Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Course meets the new 75-hour requirement and is the mandatory prerequisite to taking the NYS Real Estate Salesperson Exam. Note: Salespersons that received their license after July 2008 must have satisfactorily completed the NY State Salesperson Licensing Course; Salespersons that took the Salesperson’s 45-hour course before July 2008 are required by the NY State Department of State to take the 30-hour remedial licensing course to meet the required 120 hours to qualify for a broker’s license. Certified Bookkeepers are to bookkeeping what CPA’s are to accounting: the elite of the profession. Upon successful completion, students will be able to sit for the national examination administered by the AIPB. Sustainable Architecture

Learn approaches in Green architecture, Agencies and Technologies involved with different rating systems as applicable in various cases of build forms. Develop an understanding and level of familiarity with LEED for all structures, its credit intents, requirements, costs and benefits. Explore the trend of developing healthier communities via sustainable design by defining effective ways to utilize energy and water usage. Elements from architecture, civil engineering, landscape architecture, environmental and land use planning, and construction management are incorporated. Includes successful strategies to implement green building and sustainable design into site planning and design, building design and construction and building management practices. Taught by Instructor E. Dominique Paraison. Required: GED or High School Diploma.

Learn green building practices that can be applied to LEED Rating Systems. Topics are geared toward understanding core concepts of LEED and preparing you for the LEED Green Associate exam and for part one of the new two-part LEED AP exam. You will be trained on concepts fundamental to the LEED Rating Systems and learn successful green building strategies. Training concludes with an overview of recommended study methods, exam-taking skills and practice questions for the LEED Green Associate exam. This class qualifies you to take the LEED Green Associate Exam. Requirements: To take this exam, you must have prior experience supporting a LEED-registered project, be working in a sustainable field of work, or have attended an education program that addresses green building principles. For those without this educational background, participation in our Sustainable Architecture program fulfills this requirement. BI-SM145 Sat., 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Dec. 3 and 10 2 sessions $315

OSHA 10 & 30-Hour Training These 10 and 30 hour training programs provide a comprehensive overview of the safety rules and precautions for working on the construction job site as well as performing as a contractor on the client job site. These courses fulfill requirements for OSHA Construction Industry training; providing detailed information on how the provisions of the OSHA Act may be implemented in the workplace. Rights and responsibilities under the OSHA Act, the appeals process, record keeping, and voluntary protection programs are covered. Includes an introduction to OSHA’s construction and general industry standards and an overview of requirements of the more frequently referenced standards. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and a 10-hour or 30-hour OSHA card 4 to 6 weeks after course completion. OSHA 10-Hour Training

Electronics Technician Certificate (online) The Electronics Technician Certificate program provides flexible, skills-based training in basic electronics. No electronics background is required. Contents of the program include Current, Voltage, Resistance, Ohm’s Law, Parallel and Series Circuits, Magnetism, AC/DC Circuits Capacitance, Inductance, Transformers, Resonance, Filters, Transistors, Semiconductors, Amplifiers, Op Amps and digital Electronics. Programmable Logic Controllers Program (online)

The PLC Technician training program introduces the concepts of PLCs and explains how they can be used in a plant or manufacturing system. This training “tutor” is designed for first time users to make a safe and quick start in getting to know the fundamentals of PLC programming. A student who has completed the PLC training will be able to use programmable logic controllers to solve machine and process problems. The average completion time of the nineteen training modules is thirty-two weeks of part-time study. Requirement: High School diploma or GED. $1,800 Robotics Technician Certificate (online)

The Robotics Technician training program introduces the concepts of industrial robots and explains how they can be used in a plant or manufacturing system. The primary focus of the program is on automated manufacturing processes, as well as the role of robots and all of their support equipment. Areas of study include motion programming, palettizing, conveyor systems, computer networking, automated sorting systems, vision and tactile sensors and computer integration. Typical completion time for the program is 28 weeks. Course material is delivered and supported by a combination of CD-ROM/online resources. The robot simulation software, Robologix, provides access to a range of industrial robots including Cartesian and SCARA designs and includes various end effectors. Basic Reading/Writing for Adults

Strengthen your written communication skills as well as your vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. The focus in this course will be on organizing and writing an expository essay by examining the basic structure of expository writing and developing the ordering of their ideas in a logical sequence. This course is appropriate if you are preparing for the GED or for college, or if you are already in college but are struggling with writing.
