Students Activities
1) Celebration of National Mathematics Day
Every year, National Mathematics Day is celebrated in
Department of Applied Mathematics on 22nd
December to mark
the birth anniversary of legendary Indian Mathematician,
Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The main objective behind the celebration was to raise awareness among students about the importance of mathematics for the development of humanity. The department organizes various competitions like Mathematical Rangoli, Quiz, Know the Mathematician etc. on in the third week of December. On 22
nd
December, various prizes are distributed by the Head of the Department to the winners. The Department also gifted many books to the needy students.
2) Welcome of Fresher Students
Every year final year M.Sc. students welcome fresher students
by arranging a welcome party for them. It is an event where
freshers are not only given a chance to exhibit their talents but
also feel comfortable and adapt to the new surroundings.
3) Farewell of Final Year Students
Every year previous year M.Sc. students bid farewell to
final year students by arranging a farewell party for them. It
is an event where final year students receive well wishes
for their future
endeavours by previous year students as well as faculty members
of the department.
