Step-by-Step Re-Enrollment Guide for Certified and Gold Certified Partners

Welcome to Your Step-by-Step Guide to Re-Enrolling in the Microsoft Partner Program This guide is designed to help take you step-by-step and screen-by-screen through the re-enrollment process. It also provides other important re-enrollment information, such as who in your organization can re-enroll, when to re-enroll, three easy steps to re-enrolling, how much time is needed to re-enroll, and more.

Each year your company must re-enroll in the Microsoft Partner Program to keep its membership current and continue access to program benefits. Re-enrollment is based on a rolling calendar and runs 12 months from your enrollment date.

Partners are encouraged to re-enroll prior to their Program Expiration Date (Anniversary Date) to maintain benefits as well as access new benefits that support all stages of your business and help your company be successful. Benefits range from planning your business to building and maintaining your expertise, plus supporting your marketing and selling efforts and retaining your customers. New benefits include Partner Logo Builder, Customer Satisfaction Index, Channel Builder, and listing in the redesigned Microsoft Resource Directory, an online directory where customers worldwide can search for services and solutions that companies such as yours offer. (Note: Be sure to select the option to participate and update or complete your profile to be listed in this customer referral directory.)

Partners can re-enroll as early as 90 days prior to their Program Expiration Date. If your company misses its enrollment date, it will maintain access to online benefits for an additional 30 days after its Program Expiration Date.

Email Notification Prior to your company’s Program Expiration Date, it will receive email notifications sent to its Primary Program Contact, Secondary Program Contact, and Profile Administrator(s) encouraging it to re-enroll. The email specifies your company’s Program Expiration Date, along with actions for re-enrollment. You can also contact your Regional Support Center to provide your Program Expiration Date. A final re-enrollment email notification is sent to your company on its Program Expiration Date.

If your company has set up consolidated payment for your Child Sites, please note that re-enrollment notifications are sent only to your Child Sites. We encourage Child Sites to contact their Parent Site to inform them when it is necessary for the Parent Site to go to the Payment Center and pay their re-enrollment program fee.

Availability of the Re-Enrollment Tool The re-enrollment tool opens on December 20, 2004. Re-enrollment begins December 20, 2004 for partners within a 90-day window of their Program Expiration Date. As an example, on December 20, any partner with a Program Expiration Date on or before March 20, 2005 will have the ability to re-enroll.

Only the Primary Office is able to re-enroll; Branch Offices associated with the Primary Office are automatically re-enrolled once re-enrollment is complete. Re-enrollment can be completed by your company’s Primary Program Contact, Secondary Program Contact, or Profile Administrator(s).

Re-Enrollment Exemption During the re-enrollment period, existing Certified or Gold Certified Partners will be exempt from having to meet the full Competency, Partner Points, or customer reference requirements needed to complete re-enrollment and maintain existing level and Competency status for another year.

However, your company should continue working to achieve the full customer reference or Partner Points needed to meet program level and Competency requirements by its next Program Expiration Date.

Improved Re-Enrollment We’ve improved the re-enrollment tool to make it easier to use, so it takes fewer steps and less time to complete. The online re-enrollment process will take you through a sequence of screens which you will be asked to review and, if necessary, update or complete information about your organization. There are three basic steps to re-enrolling:

1. Review and approve the Microsoft Partner Program Agreement.

2. Verify, update, or complete your profile (Individual, Organization, Business Operations, Resource Directory listing, and Extended Business profiles).

3. Pay the program fee.

If you have already completed your profiles, you only need to verify that they are still accurate, which should take about 20-25 minutes. If you need to update your profiles, you should plan on 35-50 minutes; if you have not completed your profiles, plan on 60-120 minutes.

The re-enrollment process covers re-enrollment into your company’s program level and any Competencies you’ve attained. If your company wishes to re-enroll at a higher program level, we recommend you first re-enroll at your current program level to take advantage of the requirements exemption offered to existing Certified and Gold Certified Partners and to expedite the process for you. You can then apply for a higher program level at any time after your re-enrollment is complete.

To complete the process in the most efficient manner, use the Profile Questionnaire for Enrollment or Re-Enrollment before you start, to help gather and have ready your organization’s profile information.

Below are some general guidelines to follow:

• Fields that are required are marked with an asterisk (*). If you attempt to continue on to the next page without completing a required field, you will receive an error message.

• If you have previously submitted information about your organization, many of the fields on the screens will be pre-populated with that information.

• You do not need to complete the entire re-enrollment procedure all at once. Along the way there are options to save your entries for completion at a later time.

• At any point in the process you can click a Cancel button to cancel the re-enrollment session.

For Additional Help For additional help, contact your Regional Support Center.

Glossary of Terms A glossary of terms and program status definitions are listed at the end of this guide.
