May God bless all those who do not feel the love that the children of God experience in our Church!
Father Mark Wagner Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are one family, or rather a "family of families" at St. Joseph's Parish. Our holy patron, St. Joseph, helps us to love Our Lord and Our Lady as he did, and to love one another as a family.
This weekend our parish family welcomes any and all guests who arrive to visit our 45th Annual St. Joseph's Parish Festival. We are using the traditional American cry for circuses and festivals: "Come one, come all!" All are called to join the family fun!
Meanwhile this month, our beloved Holy Father Pope Francis, the father of our universal Catholic family, will be winging his way to Philadelphia, the "city of brotherly

Religious Educaton: Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross
Respect Life
“All of us must care for life, cherish life, with tenderness, warmth…to give life is to open (our) heart, and to care for life is to (give oneself) in tenderness and warmth for others, to have
concern in my heart for others. Caring for life from the beginning to the end. What a simple
thing, what a beautiful thing..So, go forth and don’t be discouraged. Care for life. It’s worth it.”
(From a homily in 2005 by Cardinal Bergoglio celebrating Aug.
31 feast of St. Raymond Nonnatus, patron saint of expectant mothers, newborns)
Our Parish School of Religion opens next week and its doors will be flooded by children of all ages, who return to be nourished in our faith. A majestic sight indeed! What a lofty calling, it is to be a catechist, and be entrusted with such a treasure of souls. Catechists are people who remember God and who re-echo and pass His message of salvation to others, as Pope Francis said in His homily on the Day for Catechists in 2013.
“We adore you, o Christ and we praise you, because by your Holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.” How can one pass on this message of salvation to others, if it is not by heroically witnessing with one’s life? That calling, is not just an answer to a certain announcement at Church via the speakers or the bulletin, but an answer to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Catechists have been called by name, in the same way as those children and families who have brought them to the school. “In Divine Providence, there is no such thing as a coincidence,” Pope St.

John Paul II, reminds us. These are the designs of God, and we
cooperate with His plan, just as Jesus, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, cooperated and accepted the mission given by the Father. Why write about returning to the school of religion on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross? Because this is a reminder that it is through the Cross that Jesus brought salvation to us, and it is through the
Who return to be nourished in
our faith acceptance of our daily crosses , big and small, and our cooperation with God’s grace, that we will be sanctified and reunited with God in heaven.
Our lives, our faith, our homes, our classrooms, and we, ourselves, must bear the sign of the cross as a reminder. It is no wonder that the first prayer we teach our children is the Sign of the Cross, one that they will recall every day until the end of their lives. The Sign of the Cross, bears the wounds and suffering of Christ, and God’s love for us. Love is often bittersweet, and love without sacrifice is just empty words.
Wearing a crucifix gives witness to our faith, for the sign of the cross reminds us and everyone who is confronted by its presence, of God’s infinite love for us. Let us rejoice in the cross, the symbol of love.
Our lives, our faith, our homes, our classrooms,
and we, ourselves, must bear the sign of the cross as a reminder

An Autumn Message About Child Protection Autumn means back to school for children and back to work for those who have been on vacation. Amidst the hustle and bustle of this season, let us all keep sight of the importance of keeping our
children and young people safe from danger.
Training requirements to safeguard children have been established in parishes throughout the Diocese of Stockton. These training requirements help ensure that all children and youth experience
a safe environment in all parish activities and events. The Diocese of Stockton mandates that all people who work with children and youth in our parishes and schools must undergo child abuse prevention training through the guidelines established by the
United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This training includes being fingerprinted and
background checked and completing an on-line training course entitled Shield the Vulnerable. If you are planning on helping or assisting in your child’s school, you are required to complete this training.
For training information, contact your local parish/school Safe Environment Coordinator. For particular help and questions you may call: Linda Dillen, Manager of Benefits & Safe
Environment for the Diocese of Stockton, at (209) 466-0636

CORRESPONSABILIDAD (STEWARDSHIP)
Por:
Leer, Meditar, Orar y Vivir
