PRAY FOR OUR SICK
Page 3
Palm Sunday Greetings and Salutations,
Today is Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week.
This week we will remember Jesus’ Last Supper with
his disciples, and his passion and death. We celebrate
today Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem, the holy city
where Jews came from all over Israel to celebrate
with family and friends.
How can we welcome Jesus into our hearts today?
Last week in Faith Formation our sixth graders
celebrated a Seder Meal in their classroom. This is an
annual lesson facilitated by our wonderful Catechist’s
Deborah White and Lisa Marcolina. The students
had a chance to go back in time and participate in a
Passover Meal. Well done!!!
Peace and Prayers for a spirit filled Holy Week!
Sabrina Queen
Just for fun…what did the stamp say to the envelope?
Stick with me and we will go places! LOL!!!
Queen’s Quotes from
Religious Formation
From the Pastor’s Desk
Welcome to HOLY WEEK! This is exactly what we celebrate – the holiest
week of the year. This is the time of our salvation. These are the days that
we commemorate Jesus’ passion and death in order to save us, and his
Resurrection to conquer death. These days are holier than Christmas, the
birth of Jesus, or any other time of the year. I hope that you can spend some
extra time with us, especially during the Triduum (the 3 high holy days) of
Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday/Easter Sunday.
This week is holy not only because of the actions of Jesus, but also because
it gives US a chance to become holy (or holier). We acknowledge our sins
and our human willingness to sin, we ask for God’s mercy. We spend time
with Jesus and his disciples at the Last Supper; we recline with them at
table, we listen to his words, we allow him to wash our feet, we hear his
final words of instructions, receive his Body and Blood, and proceed with
him to the Garden of olives, to watch, wait, and sleep while he prays. Then
we stay away as he is condemned to death, from a distance we see him carry
his cross, the pain and suffering he endures for us, and then he is finally
hung upon that same cross, where he dies.
It doesn’t end then, but we must go through the past to get to his
Resurrection. We can’t celebrate Easter if we haven’t remembered his
suffering and death.
Join us, then. Take the opportunity to become sanctified.
Fr. Ken

Saturday, April 20
at Noon
Bring your Easter food to be blessed.
We invite you to participate in this blessing, which
is traditional on Holy Saturday.
Next week is Holy Week, the
week that we take time to
commemorate the fact that Jesus,
our God, laid down his life for our
salvation, and that of the world. I
hope you have time to come to as
many of the services as possible. I know that
they can be long, but it is also a time to unite
our prayers with Christians around the world,
and even throughout time. If you have a little
extra time this week, remember to say a prayer
for our Catechumens and Candidates who will
come into full union with the Church at the
Easter Vigil. Even if you can not be there in
person, I hope that you will be with us in spirit.

We Need YOUR Help!!
It is that time of year again! Time
to start thinking about our annual
JUNE JAMBOREE! With your
help, last year we put together
some great Big Bucket raffles. We
are hoping to do it again this year.
Our most popular (most tickets
sold) Big Bucket raffle was the
gift card bucket and the second
most popular was the booze
bucket. The June Jamboree made
$16,000 last year and the proceeds
are going towards a new digital
sign in front of our church. Let’s
see if we can make it happen
again! Thank you in advance!!
We would like to put the
following items together for the
raffle buckets for this years June
Jamboree -
Bottles of Liquor (unopened)
Gift Cards (unused)
Scratch off Lottery Tickets
If you are able to help with these
items, please drop them off in the
Parish Office or give them to Paul
in the Gathering Area after Mass.
*Raffle tickets are now available.
Please pick up your envelope in
the gathering space.

Joyful Women
To all that donated to Operation Layette, we received the following letter from the
Council of Catholic Women/AD on March 21.
Dear Wonderful People of St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Parish,
Virtues of love and kindness are enriching others’ lives because of help from you
wonderful folks. You are truly living a message of love. THANK YOU, for the good
you’re doing by sharing so many lovely baby gifts with needy moms. You are pro-
life heroes, upholding the dignity of life.
Once again your gifts will be turned into beautiful layettes to get many new moms off
to a good start. What a great partnership we here at the Coucil of Catholic Woman,
Operation Layette have with you and your parish women’s group.
When helping hands like yours reach out to others, the world is a little happier, a little
kinder, a little better place to live. God bless you for letting the Holy Spirit shine
through you.
Sending a prayer for faith to guide you, hope to cheer you, and much love to warm
your hearts and homes. THANK YOU again.
Wishing you a holy, happy Lent rich in God’s blessings.
Little Things Mean A Lot!
With a grateful heart,
Marge Caram
