Thank you very much to everyone who participated in and donated to the Baby Bottle and Layette Campaign for First Choice Pregnancy Services of New Ulm. Your donations and support are greatly appreciated. Many blessings ~ Carol Hoffmann and Patti Hayes Thank you to all the parishioners who so kindly donated towards this year’s Diocesan Ministry Appeal (DMA) project of replacing unsafe walkways. The concrete is completed thanks to the contractor and members of Administrative Council.

Our 75th Anniversary Year goes on…..Several items are in the works to

make sure we continue to celebrate the connection we have not only

within our Parish Family, but also our community family. Here are two

events to take place…..

1. For 75 years the community of Lafayette has supported us and now we

want to say thank you. On Friday, July 7th, St. Gregory’s Admin Council will

be offering all parish and community members a simple and free meal at the

Lafayette Community Center. The Meal will consist of a BBQ Sandwich, chips, beans,

pickles, a cookie and a beverage.

2. On September 17th we will round out the year by offering a Parish Family meal on a

Sunday afternoon. We are hoping this will allow for more of our former priests to come

back and celebrate with us.

St Gregory the Great Administrative Council Meeting Minutes Friday May 5, 2017

Mark Schuelke called the meeting to order. Members present were: Carol Hoffmann, Pam Morson, Cheri LeBrun, Mark Schuelke, Sheri Liebl, Carl Oswald, Laurie Platz. Missing: Monsignor Grams, Alex Platz, Linda Beranek, Rich Scheuer This meeting was a continuation of the one held on April 20th that did not get completed. NEW BUSINESS: Rectory Downspouts – insurance issue: Mark Schuelke and Rich Scheurer are looking into options for this. Maintenance list for Karl Lindquist is on the frig in the social hall. Karl looks at this for things that need to be completed. ….. The administrative council would like to get a vitality and evangelization committee together to really promote St Gregory’s Catholic Church. Suggestions would be to host a day trip to West Bend IA to visit the Grotto, or have special speakers during different times of the year. We need to get a brochure to the City Clerk to hand out to newcomers to town, also would like a spot on the city facebook page possibly linking back to the AFC website. We need to become more visible in the community. Carol picked up a couple of brochures from other churches that she is going to share with the council. The end of June is Mark Schuelke’s term completion, Carol Hoffmann is also up, but said she will agree to another term…….M/S/P to nominate Laurie Platz as president of council and Cheri LeBrun as Secretary. A request has been made to close the Youth group checking account. M/S/P instead of closing to give $10 to each of the servers for the annual server Valleyfair trip and remaining back to the general fund. A request to close statute savings account was made – M/S/P to bring suggestions to the next meeting for statues to be spent on. Other suggestions were used for purchase of a nice crucifix, or memorial for unborn babies area at cemetery. Decision will be made at June meeting. Harvest Festival: M/S/P to add a special drawing for the church workers, $75 will be drawn every hour for anyone that worked that day. Our next meeting will be Thurs June 8, 2017 at 7 p.m. with the Holy Cross Area Faith
