    NEWSLETTER Term 3, Week 7 September 4th 2020

    Dear Parents & Guardians,

At some stage this Sunday Daniel Andrews will be announcing what the next period of time will look like in terms of

lockdown and restrictions. This will have an impact on when and how children will be able to return to school. Once the

Premier has made this announcement, and I have clarification from Catholic Education Melbourne on the implications for

primary schools, I will be in contact with you through both Operoo and email. You have all done an incredible job in

supporting the children with learning at home whilst still juggling home duties and work tasks. This has not been easy

but we are all doing what we can to make the best of a challenging situation.

We have had a proposal put to us by an alternative uniform supplier for Australian made uniforms at similar prices to

what we currently have. Our current uniforms are made overseas and not necessarily to Australian sizes. On Monday,

31st August I met with the supplier and a group of parents to consider this. The main changes to our current uniform

    would be

*all sizing would be according to Australian sizing

*a different dress in both style and material—this has zipped pockets

*a gold collared t shirt with blue side insert for everyday

*school jumper (non itch) instead of the current windcheater

*a specific sports zipped windcheater with zipped pockets

*sports tops in the children's sports colour and sports shorts/trousers.

The winter tunic and winter check trousers will be primarily the same but made locally from the same patterned fabric

that we currently have and to an Australian sizing. All trousers will be manufactured to a longer length to accommodate

taller children. I have included photos of these in the newsletter for you. If you have any feedback please send it through

to me via email to [email protected] by Wednesday, 9th September. Once the parents committee

have made a decision I will let you know. If the uniform is to change there would be a transition period so that items you

currently have can still be worn until new items need to be purchased.

    Take care and God bless

    Carmel Marantelli

  • Wow! Students of St Catherine’s, congratulations are in order! As the administrator of Reading

Eggs/Reading Eggspress I have the pleasant fortune of receiving whole school reports. I can

proudly that our Prep, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3, 294 students, have spent a whopping 2,400

hours of time in program! The number of sessions that have been completed is fantastic – 7,100

hours. We have a further 14 licences for a small number of students in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.
