Webpage Design

• Dr. Mark Neupert is a professor at Oregon Tech and among his

many accomplishments stands his creation of the film

“Cobblestone Stories”. He chose to illustrate his interest in

urban design and city living through this film.

• “Cobblestone Stories” was submitted the film to the New Urban

Film Festival, in the summer of 2015. Upon entry, the need for

certain revisions was discovered. So Dr. Neupert enlisted the

assistance of Derek Scott to create and implement a detailed

marketing kit for the film.

• The marketing kit project involved web based marketing for the

film including:

• Webpage design

• Distribution execution

• A product copyright

• Social media account creation

• Advertising through search engines

Research

• Direct internet sales

• Third party distribution

• Options considered – Amazon, Bullfrog Films, and

New Day Films

Results

• Desired feature was convenience for Dr. Neupert

• Direct internet sales – required applications and not

convenient

• Amazon – Fulfilment by Amazon for convenience but

would require too much additional advertising

• Bullfrog and New Day Films – “Cobblestone Stories”

currently being considered by both distributors

Conclusions and Recommendations

• Only one distributor can be used as they require

contracts of exclusivity

• Third party decided upon

• Bullfrog Films preferred due to its requirements of not

having to do unknown future projects for the company

which New Day Films mandates

• Amazon serves as back up due to its need of extensive

advertising

Amazon Selling Plan:

Item price

+ Shipping charges paid by the buyer

- Referral fee

- Variable closing fee for media items

- $0.99 per item fee

----------------------------------

= Total deposited to seller account

New Day Films Selling Plan:

Mark Neupert Films would receive 60-70% of sales profits

Bullfrog Films Selling Plan:

Bullfrog Films does not reveal their costs until a film is

selected to join their distribution network

Research

• Options considered – Google Ads, Advertising on

YouTube, social media sites, press release

• Investigation of what kind of advertising was offered by

each distributor

• Inquiry of press release formats/ content

Results

• Social media sites created – YouTube and Facebook

• Upon recommendation no additional advertising was

implemented

• Press release formed

Conclusions and Recommendations

• Google Ads – not cost effective for Mark Neupert Films

• Advertising on YouTube – free option as well as paying to

advertise

• Distributor advertising:

• Product placement in catalogs sent directly to the

target market of educators

• Product placement on the distributor’s website

• Film festival submissions

• Potential private screenings along with expositions

Research

• Extensive online inquiry was completed regarding

requirements and the application process

Results

• The copyright application was completed and submitted

along with the $35 fee according to national standards

Conclusions and Recommendations

According to U.S. regulations a film is protected:

• While being considered for the copyright

• Seventy additional years after the register's death
