ABOUT ASAPMission is to reintegrate veterans, servicemembers, and military families into their communities through the arts.

Promotes expression, skill-building, and camaraderie through seven- to ten-weekclasses in stand-up comedy, improv,storytelling, and creative writing.

Partners with local colleges, artsorganizations, and performance venues tooffer its graduates continuous opportunitiesfor artistic and personal growth.

Provides participants with transferable lifeskills, a renewed sense of purpose, andimproved well-being. At the same time, we strengthen ties between veterans and their communities through the arts.

Comedy Bootcamp is the first stand-up comedy class in the country for veterans and military families. Led by professional comedians, the seven-week course develops the comedy writing and performing skills of participants via instruction and group feedback. Comedy Bootcamp then culminates with a graduation show at a local comedy club, with each participant delivering a five-minute set to a public audience.

• Delivered more than 500 shows to an estimated 25,000+ audience members.

• Performed first-ever Veterans Comedy Show at The White House in October 2016, as well as a special performance for President Jimmy Carter.

• Featured on CNN, NBC, BBC, and the Washington Post; subject of PBS documentary.

• Named to Forbes’ and Pacific Standard’s 30 Under 30 lists for “Social Entrepreneurship” in 2017.

• Recognized on the HillVets 100 list as one of the 100 most influential organizations in the veterans space.

Combat to Comedy: A Veterans Comedy Show will be hosted at NYC’s iconic Gotham Comedy Club, which is consistently named one of the top comedy clubs in the country.

Features graduates of ASAP’s Comedy Bootcamp program, professional military-veteran comedians, and at least one well-known headliner (TBA).

Culminates with a panel, where comics discuss their military experience and the impact that comedy has had on their lives.

Afford our Comedy Bootcamp alumni the opportunity of a lifetime to perform at one of New York’s top comedy clubs.

Generate awareness of the arts meaningful impact in supporting veterans and their families as they transition into civilian life.

Raise $40,000 to support our Comedy Bootcamp, Operation Improv, Storytelling 101, and Creative Writing programs for veterans and their families
