TRANSFORMATIONAL REDESIGN PLAN APPROVED!!!!
FLINT SOUTHWESTERN CLASSICAL ACADEMY
7TH – 12TH GRADE
POINT OF PRIDE
The Approved Transformational Redesign Plan was a result of a building-wide effort of consolidating the AdvancEd and the IB Reviews.
PROBLEM THAT LED TO THE POINT OF PRIDE IMPLEMENTATION
How did it start?
• Priority school identification
• AdvancEd School Review
• IBO Re-Authorization Visit
The problem was that we needed to increase student achievement through aligning program requirements.
HIGHLIGHTS
Analyzed various data sources (AdvancEd report, IBO report, MI School Data) to develop school-wide instructional initiatives to raise student achievement
EVIDENCE OF EFFECTIVENESS
All stakeholders had the opportunity to reach consensus on our “three” big ideas:
• CLIMATE AND CULTURE
• ACADEMIC VOCABULARY
• CRITICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING
CHALLENGES• Gathering stakeholder support
• Elimination of collaboration time
• Lack of financial resources
• Several Staff changes
• Several Master Schedule changes
