Generality: Activity name LeSouk TMET Introduction LeSouk Algeria is an association of medical students and young doctors. It’s an educational, scientific and cultural association created by a group of volunteering medical students in order to organize various activities to promote health vision in our community and encourage students to take part in the sustainable development of its community by empowering young medical leaders. LeSouk Algeria is affiliated to an International Federation: IFMSA The International Federation of Medical Students, usually designated by the acronym IFMSA (for English International Federation of Medical Students' Associations) is a federation of associations of medical students from around the world to share ideas and experiences. Representatives of associations of all countries fall into Congress twice a year to discuss on subjects as diverse as medical studies, medical demography, public health or international solidarity. It is organized into six committees: • SCOME: Standing Committee on Medical Education • SCOPE: Standing Committee on Professional Exchanges

• SCORE: Standing Committee on Research Exchanges

• SCOPH: Standing Committee on Public Health • SCORA: Standing Committee on Reproductive health and AIDS • SCORP: Standing Committee on human Rights and Peace.

TMET**: Training Medical Education Trainers. General description LeSouk-TMET will be the first TMET for medical students and young doctors in Algeria. An initiative that will bring together participants from across the country for 5 days of certified training by l IFMSA related to several aspects of the practice and personal life of the medical student and young doctors, Such as conflict management , project management. And all this in order to: • Promote personal development in medicine for students and

young doctors.

• To introduce participants to our new horizons and increase their productivity. • Boost motivation and facilitate cultural and professional exchanges. TMET ** : Medical Education Training Trainers .

2.TMET Outline TMET-Algeria is a 5 days and 4 nights, from April 28th to May 1st. It aims at creating 'medical education experts', through informative lectures and enjoyable workshops conducted by TMET trainers from all over the world. The workshop will introduce students to the most important medical education topics, such as Curriculum design and development, learning and teaching basics, research in medical education and so on. The goal from such a training is to build capacities and empower medical students to advocate and actively participate to the development of medical education in their own medical faculties. Thus, TMET isn't only about expanding knowledge in medical education, it's also about acquiring training skills. Participants will be challenged to develop skills in presentation,

strategic planning, spreading a message and leadership and thus, because the participants of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. This will ensure the Standing committee to grow and to be more effective in the upcoming years. In order for this experience to happen, a call will be opened for the participants on March 18th.

3.Who should apply ? Target Groups: We are willing to give the opportunity to our fellows who are under the LeSouk association flag specifically in the SCOME committee in the 05 local associations: Algiers, Annaba, Batna, Constantine and Oran. Through a form, we hope to see participating in our LeSouk TMET, medical Students with a passion for medical education and motivation to know more about medical education processes and advocacy in this field.

4.Objectives and goals 1. Provide knowledge about existing guidelines, (medical) education theories, models and trends from literature. 2. Give an introduction to the world of medical education to the participants through trainings on essential skills in medical education introduce participants to the world of medical education through essential skills in medical education trainings 3. Provide skills for development of medical education, including student leadership and advocacy 4. Empower and motivate participants to take action at a local and national level 5.Provide skills in peer education and teaching 6. Create a database gathering all the information needed by the partcipants 5.Expected number of participants LeSouk TMET is going to welcome 35 participants PS: The number of participants may be subject to some changes according to the quality of the candidatures. 6.Trainers / Speakers A call will be open on March 09th for the trainers. 4 TMET trainers will be selected from all over the world.

8.Evaluation and certificates

8.1 Evaluation: The evaluation will focus on different aspects: information provided before the Training contact with the OC, agenda, trainings, SWGs, workshops, social program, venue, accommodation, dinner, etc. The evaluation will be done via an online form within two weeks after the meeting. 8.2 Certificates At the end of the training, participants will receive a TMET certificate confirming their attendance and active participation. The certificates will be signed by the OC president and National Officer on Medical Education of LeSouk Algeria.

9.ACCOMMODATION Accommodation will be provided for the 35 participants in the university dorms while the TMET trainers will be hosted in a Hotel downtown where a half board programme which includes breakfast and dinner will be provided, all buffet style, served in the main restaurant. The program will be conducted in the Faculty of Medicine of

Constantine.

10.Training Logistics

10.1.Materials: pens, markers, post-it-notes, A4 paper. Other materials and equipment will be available for all workshops such as wireless access, projectors, speakers, printers. 10.2.Breaks: The hard work of trainers and the amount of knowledge given to the students requires a 15 min break to relax. Coffee, tea, water and snacks will be served

A welcoming package with the basics needs of the participants will be provided to each one.

13. Social Program

During the following days, the main training sessions will take place in the mornings and afternoons. The evenings will include the social program. We will be visiting some of the must-see places in Constantine Algeria as it holds the title of capital of arabic culture this year, a lot of cultural events are expected to be in the program. You will have more information about social program on our Facebook page in the following days. Expect from us an enjoyable social program! :D 14. Registration, transportation Transport to the TMET Algeria will not be provided for the applicants but only between the faculty to the dorms. Transport will be provided for the TMET trainers from the airport to the hotel, during the training and after the training back to the airport. We will provide the participants with an invitation letter at least 3 weeks before the training. We will also provide assistance during the visa procedure for all international trainers.
