● Today, we’ll review Facebook, Instagram and Blogger reach in depth

● Tuesday 27th Jan - Covering Pinterest, Polyvore in depth

2 More Webinars

Facebook - Framework

• Create it as a Page, not a profile. Facebook will not promote you as a business if you are a profile.

• Name it as the store name, and make sure the About info is accurate and alluring.

• Put cover image - replace often!

• Profile pic of owner or shop front. (Atelier957 thubs up!)

• Create a “subscribe to newsletter” tab

• Be Consistent - Post at least minimum 4 times a week, ideal - 5-6 times - best to post mid week Tue-Fri

• Best time: 5pm til 8am (use Facebook scheduler)

Facebook - Format

• Keep it short

• Always use an Image

• Meta always on images! (e.g. “CladIn_Alembika_top_automn2014”)

• Tag, Tag, Tag! (Velvet Button doing a great job!)

• Be Consistent - Post at least 4 times a week, preferably every day.

Facebook - Content

• Be Personable

• Holistic approach!

• Owners/seller images are great!

• Pics of cloths

• Give tips! be useful to your audience

• Let them know of sales coming

• Ask questions

• “Retail brand Posts containing the sales keywords “$ off” and “coupon”

receive the highest fan engagement.”

Facebook - Build Fans

• Link to your store

• Have your site, your email, your postcards, a poster in the store - with ‘follow us on Facebook’

• $$$$ for more followers, learn to target or hire someone to do a one-off for you.

• Link to designers/labels and of course Yael :-)

Stores who do it well

Instagram - Framework

• Register using smartphone• CHANGE PERSPECTIVE: Make sure you sign up for a

personal account as well so you can experience what a user experiences.

• Post minimum once - Twice a day• Tell an interesting story through your images and

captions.• Don’t be afraid to experiment, and pay attention to what

users like and comment on most.

Instagram - Content

• Fashion retail - easiest to create images for!

• You don’t have to be a great photographer

• Take lots of photographs and make them aesthetically pleasing and creative.

Picture name is critical - use same as Facebook

• Use Framatic App

Instagram - Build Followers

• Use relevant hashtags

• Tag, Tag, Tag

• Engage with your followers. Comment. Follow back. Like things. Be human

• Follow Instagram and join in on their #projects ~ that’s where you get featured by them. For ex. weekend #projects and #tbt (throw back thursdays).

Most Important: Reach Bloggers

Reach Bloggers

• Holistic View of Blogger: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Blog.

• Follow them, comment, like, share…. give them virtual TLC

• Takes 1-3 months to build relationships online• email them! Offer a look.
