• Who is your target audience? • Do you know who reads your posts? • What are your demographics?

• What time of the day are you posting? • How often are you posting?

Before you create and post content on social media, here are a few things to take into consideration.

Target Audiences:

In order for your social media accounts to be as successful as possible, you need to know your target audience. Knowing who you’re targeting through your content can determine how effective your posts are. Keep your target audiences in mind when planning, creating and posting content.

Primary Audience

Your primary target audience is Women ages 18-49

Secondary Audience

Your secondary audience is college students at BYU-Idaho.

When To Post

When to Post:

Facebook:The best time to post on Facebook is between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.And on Saturday and Sunday between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.

Instagram:The best time to post on Instagram is from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Instagram posts appear in feeds “based on the likelihood that the audience will be interested in the content.” That means that photos and videos with lots of comments and Likes have a better chance of appearing near the top of your followers’ home streams.

But even though content no longer appears in a strictly chronological order, you still want to post on Instagram when you have the best chance to hit a large audience out of the gate.

To do this, think about your target audience and what their typical day looks like. Are they the type of person who would check Instagram as soon as they wake up? If so, when would that be? Where do they live and work? Also consider what they do on their commutes and in their free time.

Boosting Posts:

Boosting post is an effective and inexpensive way to get more exposure for your content. It’s a simple and easy process- posts are boosted straight from your Facebook Page- and you can boost for any amount you want.

It’s a great way to get more people to see your posts, promote special events, offers and news, and to reach new audiences through targeting. As shown in the chart below, boosting a post increases the post reach- or how many people who view your post.

Step 1: Get Started

1. Got to the post you want to promote. This can be a new post or an existing one on you Page’s Timeline. 2. Click Boost Post in the bottom right-hand corner 3. The ad will automatically be created from our post

How to Boost a Post:

Boosting a post creates an ad straight from content on your Facebook Page Timeline. It’s a simple process that can be done in only 4 easy steps.

Step 2: Choose Your Audience Decide who you want to see your post

• If you choose People you choose through targeting, you’ll

be able to specify the people you show your boosted post

to. Then, refine their location, gender, ages, and interests.

• If you choose People who like your page and their friends,

your boosted post will only be visible to those people.

Step 3: Choose Your Budget

1. Set your maximum budget. You can spend as much or as little as you want. Facebook will give you an estimate on the number of people you’ll reach depending on the amount you set. 2. Choose your duration. Your post is automatically boosted for one day, but you can select up to 7 days. 3. Enter the correct form of payment.
