Enthought's office reflects the company’s commitment to efficiency, imagination and collaboration. Through installing work pods, a centrally-located café and integrating an industrial aesthetic with brick and wood elements, Perkins+Will transformed Enthought’s office into a warehouse-like space with warm tones and a neighborhood feel. The most defining feature of Enthought’s new space is the large café that serves as an inviting central hub for the staff, spacious enough for office meetings and game nights. The communal space maintains the office’s key design components, a balance of refined and rough material, to encourage the neighborhood coffee house feel. The café is not the only space suitable for collaboration; there are multiple work settings dispersed throughout the suite with room for team interactions and brainstorming. The design team was challenged to create a raw and loft-like feel in a first generation building. The project designer and client worked closely to create a flexible plan with a monumental stair at its heart, serving as the hub of energy for the space. The stair serves as a sculptural element as well as functional; it encourage clients and employees to socialize and congregate on a tiered platform auditorium and bar height seating. In addition, ancillary spaces are scattered throughout the plan including 2 large break rooms overlooking Lady Bird Lake, a hospitality bar that serves as Atlassian’s “upscale coffee house” serving beer and coffee, a game room, numerous open lounge areas, bicycle storage, showers, quiet zones, and 2 outdoor terraces. The floor plan was developed with flexibility in mind; all desks are mobile sit-to-stand; and power/data is distributed throughout the workspace every 7 feet from ceiling-mounted power sources. Finishes were carefully selected to minimize high VOC content to ensure the design complied with Austin Energy Green Build standards -Lackgroup
