sim spray presentation
DESCRIPTION
The SIMSpray is a 3D experience which will train a student how to use proper paint gun techniques while avoiding hazardous fumes and costly materials. This training aid can be used to prepare a student with the basics of paint gun techniques prior to spraying paint in a paint booth. It is an engaging training aid geared toward the students who are playing video games.TRANSCRIPT

TIM GRAUBERGER, INSTRUCTORCOMMENTS• The students are better prepared before we go to the paint booth
• It is not a substitute for actual hands-on spraying, but it gives the
students a head start
• It does help us reduce the environmental impact by using less paint
• It is a great tool to use for recruiting students
• It does have limitations replicating brands of paint

Results: Good 78%, Thin 22%, Thick 0%
ALEX’S COMMENTS
• My uncle took this class
and they didn’t have the
SimSpray
• It is the greatest tool to start
with so you get an idea
about your
speed, lapage, and
coverage before you waste
product in the shop
CRISTIAN 1ST YEAR STUDENT
CRISTIAN’S COMMENTS
• This helps with technique,
distance, spray pattern, and
overlap
• It shows how much coverage
you need
• We painted every day for 1-2
weeks before we painted in the
shop
• I went with Tim to the Brush High
School and it drew a lot of
interest and got students to sign
up for the program
CONCLUSION
• This has been very useful for the Auto Collision Repair Program at
MCC
• It helps with recruiting new students
• It helps students practice spraying before going to the shop
• It gives us another tool for the program
• Although it does not replace actual spraying, it is one more way to
show students how to paint and gives them some practice
