P&C Fun Run

We will be holding an adidas School Fun Run as a major fundraising event this year. The event will be held on Tuesday, 29 July within the school grounds.

The adidas School Fun Run is a healthy, fun and active fundraiser that en-sures we send the right message to our students about getting active, having fun and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The main focus of this

event is on participation. Family support is most appreciated as we en-courage all students to get involved.

All students will receive a Sponsorship Form today, to help collect spon-

sorship on behalf of the school. The funds raised will be used to pur-chase new play equipment for the Early Stage 1 playground.

We ask all parents to read the Sponsorship form and sign the front page

to grant permission for their child to fundraise and participate in this event. Students who raise just $10 or more will receive a reward for

their effort. In the

Sponsorship form you will also find many other benefits like the chance to win a family holiday to Disneyland! Students wanting to track their

progress and use online fundraising, can do so by logging onto schoolfun-run.com.au/students and creating a Student Profile Page.

Finally, we would like to welcome parents and family members to attend

the adidas School Fun Run event day at the school on Tuesday, 29 July to help cheer on our students. If you would like to volunteer to help

out on the day please contact the school on 4981 1007. Thank you, good luck and happy fundraising!

Term 4 Week 4 Monday 27 October 2014

On the 22nd of October, stage three and kindergarten walked from school to Fingal Bay SLSC. We

learned about rips and had a look in the lifeguard tower. The walk was

very relaxing for everyone as they took a break from school. We also

learned a little about Nippers. There was also a sand castle building contest. The teachers had a great time as well and the day was finished by a sausage sizzle and a play on

the playground. Overall it was a great day.

Our thanks go to the Fingal SLSC volunteers who gave up their day.

Among these were Darren Stewart, Lee Campbell, Jackie Fraser, Kellie Vincent, Eddie Bergsma, Daniel Suhr, Brett Woods and Phil Rock.

We would also like to thank the parents who walked with us and helped

throughout the day. By CJay 5/6H

On Thursday the girls and boys A an B soccer teams travelled to

Mallabula sports complex at Tanilba Bay, ready for some tough games. The Boys A team came third whilst the Boys B team won the shield in a tense and exciting 1-0 final win. The Girls B team came third. The Girls

A team played very well but found the competition very tough. It was very hot and everyone ended up very tired and sore but overall, every

one enjoyed themselves. Thanks to all the parents that helped drive us to the games. By Aimee and Mitch 5/6H

From the library....

Hi everyone

What a busy term we have had so far! This week we are lucky enough to be hosting a very special book

fair in the library. The library will become ‘MacLeans Booksellers’ and you and your family and friends will

be able to come in and purchase some wonderful books for Christmas presents or to read now.

I went into the real shop in Beaumont Street Newcastle on the weekend

and was so excited to see on display a lovely brand new Tashi book (Tashi and the Wicked Magician) with 4 new stories in it which has just

been released in time for our Bookfair.... it will be just one of lots and lots of wonderful titles coming to our school on Wednesday and

Thursday this week.

Classes will be looking at the Bookfair on Wednesday and it will be open after school for a while on Wednesday. Thursday will be the big day! It

will be open all day on Thursday and parents, friends and family are invit-ed to come in anytime between 9am and 4pm to have a look around and

meet the friendly staff from MacLeans.

The school will benefit from any purchases made and you will benefit from having a quality book shop at your front door!

Thanks everyone.
