This meeting will focus on an appraisal of recent experimental and clinical data on (I) neoplastic relevance of virology and immune dysfunctions and (2) multifactorial etiology of immune deficiencies and cancers, for prevention and improved management of immune suppressed patients with solid and hema- tologic neoplasias. Program. The program includes these topics: congenital and chemically induced immune deficiency; aging; viral oncogenesis; role of retroviruses in immune dys- functions; lymphoproliferative diseases; clinical experience with monoclonal anti- bodies for immunodiagnosis and cancer treatment; bone marrow transplantation; treatment of graft versus host disease; and other immunotherapeutic approaches. The symposium meets April 9 to 11, 1989. CANCER IN PATIENTS W1TH AIDS First international Symposium on AIDS-Associated Neoplasms Objectives. This meeting will focus on an appraisal of recent experimental and clinical data on pathogenesis of cancer in virally induced immune deficiency, and new approaches to cancer therapy of immune suppressed patients. Program. The program includes these topics: epidemiology; developmental co- factors; precursor disorders; Kaposi's sarcoma; lymphomas and other neoplasms; diagnosis; therapeutic approaches; and vaccination problems and prospects. The symposium meets April 12, 1989. PERSPECTIVES AND TRENDS IN CANCER PREVENTION AND DETECTION Seventh lncernation~l Symposium on Prevention and Detect/on of Cancer Objectives. The focus of this meeting is to form a consensus on crucial issues concerning cancer causes, risks, clinical management and public health measures, and optimal implementation of priorities and strategies to ma.x/mize available resources for improved cancer control.
