Basic Crime Prevention Practitioners Training Course

Pennsylvania Crime Prevention Officers’ Association (PCPOA) training courses are conducted quarterly throughout

the state and are open to all members of the law enforcement community. The Law Enforcement Crime

Prevention Practitioners' Training Course features a 3 day training curriculum developed by PCCD and the Office

of Attorney General, in cooperation with experienced crime prevention officers, and is recognized throughout the

law enforcement community as quality education in modern crime prevention theory and programming

fundamentals.

Course participants are provided with broad insights on how crime prevention enhances the quality of life in the

community and are taught an array of cost-effective and workable strategies that impact crime on all levels.

Instructors are veteran practitioners whose experience and level of expertise make them particularly well suited to

serve as members of PCPOA's training team.

The course runs from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and concludes on Wednesday. Course participants

receive a variety of resource materials to assist them in furthering crime prevention efforts at the local level. A

registration fee of $50.00 is charged to help defray some of the costs associated with providing this program.

Participants who successfully complete the 3 day curriculum are provided with a Certificate of Training issued by

PCPOA & The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.

Each applicant must submit the required registration form to PCPOA at least one week prior to the training date.

Class size is normally limited to 100 students in order to help facilitate effective communications between

instructor and students.

Training schedules, dates and locations are made available each year and circulated throughout the law

enforcement and college communities, as well as posted on the PCPOA website: www.PaCrimePrevention.org
