A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in English III

Remedial Instruction

III. ProcedureA. Pre-reading

1. MotivationThe teacher will ask the student if she had already witnessed a Filipino or a Korean wedding. The teacher then will show a movie clip of a traditional Korean wedding.

2. Vocabulary Development

The teacher will ask the student to answer the vocabulary exercise first.

Find out the meaning of each underlined word by choosing it from the set of words below. Write your answer before each number.

1. The newlyweds were able to show their gifts to the elders though they were constrained by time.

2. Following the practice of their ancestors, the couple wore the traditionalwedding clothes.

3. Both sets of parents bought additional furnishings for the couple’s new house.

4. Although the wedding is a festive celebration, the couple was reminded to stay somber all throughout the rite.

The teacher will ask the student to read the letter silently.

C. Post-ReadingThe teacher will ask the following questions for comprehension response:

1. Who wrote the letter? To whom is the letter addressed?2. What is the letter all about? Who are getting married?3. What are the similarities and differences between a traditional Korean

wedding and a traditional Filipino wedding?

IV. EvaluationRead the following sentences. Write T if the statement is true. If the statement is false, write F.

1. In a traditional Korean wedding, most of the family members participate in the preparation.

2. The wedding is also the union of two families.3. The parents of the groom do not participate in the decision-making.4. In olden times up to the present, couples were selected by their parents.5.
